I'm about to pack this game up and send it back to Amazon for a refund. I've already been made a fool of this year after buying GTA V and finding it wouldn't even install - had to send that back for a refund so I was hoping Witcher 3 would be my saviour.

The default FOV is bloody awful. What on Earth possessed CDPR to ship the PC version with such a pathetic FOV? It baffles me it really does.

Oh, there's a table for Cheat Engine but it's for 1.02 and while it might be working with 1.03 there are reports of crashes. I'd rather not have to resport to using Cheat Engine and would prefer a stable game. Plus when the game gets further updates, which is inevitable, the cheat table will be out of date again.

I unpacked the patch.bundle and had a look there to see if there was any way to mod the camera FOV. There isn't it.

So...

GOG, fix this. Add a FOV slider or lose a sale. I'm so glad I always buy my games from Amazon; makes sending them back for refunds so much easier.

EDIT

For clarification (since there are some morons on here). GOG are the PUBLISHERS of Witcher 3. It is they who get my money first, developers are paid by the publishers second. I addressed this post to GOG because if I send the game back it is they who lose out first and foremost. Posting my OP to CD Project Red would be pointless.

Amazon accepts games sent back even though you opened them and (might have) used the included key? O.o

I think they might actually. If he'd bought it digitally from GOG though, they have something like a 30 day money back guarantee, no questions asked, so I know they'd refund it.

Yep. I've sent both GTA V and Watch Dogs back opened and installed (or not in the case of GTA V) after using the keys.

Amazon have to contact the publishers to revoke the CD key. I've been refunded for all the games I've ever sent back to Amazon for whatever reasons.

Pretty sure this game is popular enough that whoever made the cheat engine will update it for 1.03.
Whats the problem with the FOV exactly? Looks perfectly fine to me. Even then, a pretty poor reason to send a game back.

I find it too narrow on my 16:9 aspect ratio 2560 x 1440 monitor three feet away from my face. Narrow FOV causes motion sickness. I can't play for long without wanting to vomit all over my keybaord. I need at least 90 degree FOV or better, 100. Witcher 3 seems to be around 60.., for consoles.

I'll take your word on that. But if it a resolution problem, why own a monitor that will cause such problems?! You can't expect this feature in every game.
in the beginning i also had a very very slight motion sickness, especially in the witcher senses mode.
but i have since not had any problem anymore.

I also spent over 200 hours in mass effect 3 and when i recently started the game i had to quit playing immediatly becuase of the fov.
Just get used to it and have fun.
But i agree that fov is often an issue with games nowadays.
what has fov to do with GOG? They don't even make the game.. .

pls make more sense next time

Exactly my thoughts. GOG has nothing to do with game settings lol.. He might want to head over to the proper forums http://forums.cdprojektred.com/forums/6

gog and CD Project are the same company.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but gog DOES indeed make the game.

GOG is a subsidiary of CD Project. It's not the same company, and it has nothing to do with the game. Big difference
