I last played a couple days ago and everything was working fine, save lists the family matters quest, I tried to load a couple different saves but I get the little catch up animation and then it dumps me to a loading screen with the hints and the spinning snake thing. The progress gets about 1/8 or so the way through and then stops, after a while my hard drive indicator light on my pc stops too and the game just sits there spinning the snake and cycling through hints on the loading screen.

I already did the verify/repair thing through galaxy and it didn't help

You don't leave PC on standby,by any chance?

No, but reinstalling the game did the trick
