I restarted my game because I wanted to try and keep the romance between Geralt and Yen, but I also want to recruit as many characters for Kaer Morhen as possible. From what I understand, Triss will stay at the port if you decided to continue the romance with her. Is there any other way to get Triss to head to Kaer Morhen without romancing her?

No. Triss will only go to Kaer Morhen if you ask her to stay AND tell her you love her. If you don't, she will leave for good. If you tell her you love her and continue a romance with Yennefer, then there will come a time that both women will dump you... quite poetically, and you end up with neither.
I did not say "I love you" to Triss on the docks, but instead chose the "Go. I will miss you." or whatever the third option was. I'm not sure if it's the same exact outcome, it looked like she left but then appeared again when talking to Dijkstra afterward. We still ended up in the lighthouse and she still went to Kaer Morhen. I don't particularly care about the romance options, but apparently you can end up stringing her along without saying the 'L' word like I did, lol. With Yen, it was either "I love you" or "We shouldn't be together." I thought I was being clever, but still ended up with the... Trick being played on me by the two of them later on.

No you are wrong. I let Triss go by ship and had romance with Yennifer but she was in it because Yen said that she has invited her to help us.So you don't have to make a romance with her if you don't want.

Fair enough, I stand corrected.

What i meant i wasn't rough with her but i really didn't try to hold her(because first of all it would be dumb to let her stay in the town where she can't be killed and burned alive) and everything was fine.

I too did the same exact thing with Triss at the docks and her showing up to help at Kaer Morhen because Yen asked her to.
