I really just need a starting point on what to look at. I have been on "the Google" looking for help and have tried some of the things they suggest but to no avail so I wanted to try someplace else...

100% of the time I can get to the "Start Game" menu, I click "On" then "On" and the cut scene shows up with the dude yelling. From there I have gotten to a cut scene with water sounds twice but with no video, just audio. The rest of the time the game crashes on me, generally with a kernal stopped and restarted error. I got this game on Sunday and have tried for a couple hours each day but don't go to the point of frustration.

I have tried:

Old Drivers for GForce (pre GTA V, GTA V and most recent)
Closing Steam
Closing NVidia GeForce Experience
Changing Settings per another websites guide to better graphic perfomance (In game and in the NVidia Control Panel)

I am not a smart man when it comes to computers anymore so I am looking for what types of log files are out there and is there something that lets me know how to read them.

I'm on:

Windows 8.1 64 bit
Core i7-4770k CPU @ 3.50 GHz
16.0 GB Ram
NVidia GeForce GTX 760 video card
