Greetings! So I've just finished the HoS expansion. I have a couple of questions:
1) Olgierd's wife was supposed to marry some Ofieri prince, but during the quest we see the scene where Olgierd kills her father right after he breaks their marriage contract. So when the hell did she meet this prince?
2) In this very room, if you pick up a knife, Geralt mentions Olgierd's scars on his shoulders. What was that about?
3) You may bury his wife with different mementos. Does it make any difference?
Thanks!

Yeah, I agree, I had a "wtf!" moment with that as well. She's supposed to have married this Prince, but the storyline later is totally different. I'm confused :/

Ad.1. She meet the price after Olgierd lost his (family) money and before he sold his soul to Gaunter O'dim.

Ad.2. He lost feeling for almost everything. Pain too.

Ad.3. IMHO it's just option what will be mentioned by her only.
Ad.1. She meet the price after Olgierd lost his (family) money and before he sold his soul to Gaunter O'dim. - Quite possible... kinda...

Ad.2. He lost feeling for almost everything. Pain too. - Even this does not justify hurting yourself. + when you cut his head off, you can hear how he moans. So it seems he didn't feel emotions, but not pain.

The first one is explained fairly well, I think, if you reconstruct the story from all the bits and pieces of information scattered throughout: Olgierd fell in love with Iris and they got engaged. Then, through some unfortunate events, he lost all his wealth, estate etc. Iris' parents broke off the engagement, and found her another suitor, the Ofieri prince (I think it's mentioned somewhere that they meet in Oxenfurt). Olgierd wanted to run away with Iris, but she refused, so he finally sought out o' Dimm's help.
By his newfound powers Olgierd both regained his status and turned the prince into a toad monster, subsequently he started to pursue Iris again. The two got married, but Olgierd was already starting to feel a bit under the weather (in the dreams in the garden you can feel a bit of foreshadowing, it's all pleasant enough, but it's noticable that something is just not quite right with Olgierd).
The marriage contract gets ripped a lot later, after (probably) some years of marriage, the father even states that Iris now wants to end the marriage and leave him because he has become such an awful person, which proves to be quite true since he's now capable even of murdering his own father in law in cold blood...

The second one I didn't quite get either... Yeah, there's a knife there, but I don't know how Geralt figured that it was exactly at that time that Olgierd got his scars just because of that fact.

To the third point - I think it does, SPOILERS ahead:

I put down the hairbrush (thinking that wouldn't work, actually) and Iris later says that it reminded her of how Olgierd used to watch her while she combed her hair. I think she mentions that only in the last scene (when she gives you the rose), so I was too lazy to replay that whole section and try another item. I guess she says something else if you put down a different memento.

Ahhh yeah, thanks for that. That makes sense.
