I'm looking to get the pattern in the cave (I believe it was the boots) I can see the symbol of the cat on the wall but when I use my Witcher senses nothing happens (The other pattern where you had to do the same thing worked fine). It's one of 2 patterns I have left to get. Any help?

What do you mean exactly?
You have to examine the symbol to get the limits of the area to explore, and then search for the treasure box in that area.

I know I have to examine it. When I use my witcher senses the symbol doesn't glow red as the other one did, so I can't get the treasure chest.

Mmmh... that's strange.... It never happened to me, could be that you have already taken that diagram?

However, I think you can get the treasure chest anyway I think, just explore the cave and find it... it should be there anyway.

I got several pieces of the cat Diagrams and bear upgrade diagrams in the process of doing other quests without having the scavenger hunts unlocked.

You don't need to look at the scratches. I picked up half of them by accident whilst exploring.
