Hi Guys.

Since I hadn't played The Witcher 3 in a while I wanted to start playing again a few days ago. So far, so good. However, when starting the game I realised a severely low fps performance but I wasn't too concerned, as my GPU is not the strongest. After a few minutes in the game I wanted to save my progress but I realised the Quicksave didn't work. When trying to save manually via the menu I encountered this pop-up (see the attached photo). Translated into English, it says something like: "Savegames which are created with this version of the game are not compatible with older Versions of the game". I thought it was a bug, so I tried it again and again but it still did not work. De- and reinstalling the game did not help either. I searched for the issue on Google but couldn't find any helpful information. Supposedly, this happens when you want to play your savegames from the vanilla game on the GOTY edition. However, I have never had the vanilla game. I bought the GOTY version and also had some quests done from both DLCs. I don't know how to solve this issue and really do not want to create a new game. Anyone has valid solution. I am thankful for any help.

I'm going on your assertion that Quicksave doesn't work first and foremost. Check out this post:

First and foremost, thanks for the quickl reply. I have already seen this thread, unfortunately there is no option which is called "Controlled folder Access" or anything alike. There is actually not even a Virus and Threat Protection Settings register. Could this be because I am using an additional AntiVir-programe besides the Windows Defender? Furthermore, it's not only the Quicksave that doesn't work. Neither do the Autosave or the manual saving via the menu.

It certainly sounds like security software restricting access. Check your other options.
