Hi,

found the cave, found the dung, found crows eye -- missing the formula for "chord lure".

Can somebody, please, tell me where, how or when this formula can be found (to brew the lure for the howler)?

I can't help you but I will bump with a problem of my own regarding this quest.

I crafted the chort lure many, many hours before I started this quest. However, I've lost the actual lure item which I suppose I must've sold at some point by mistake. Now I can't find the formula for it and after advancing the quest to the point where guides say you will receive the recipe automatically, I get nothing. If I go outside and loot the Fiend Dung the quest advances and tells me to place the bait in several locations, skipping the requirement to craft and possess the lure.

I've done the same (have lure no quest yet), but its in my quest items tab so can't be sold. It can be equipped like the lantern can so check item slots for it. (But perhaps you used it by accident?)

As to where I got the stuff to craft the lure I'm not sure. might be part of story quest rewards or I may have explored and simply found them by accident, I can't recall. I'm only level 12 so the stuff was from lower level quests if it was part of another quest.

The crow's eye can be found at any time, and you fight a fiend around level 9 in one of the sidequests. It should've dropped a dung for you as well and that's when you were able to craft it.

I have the exact same problem the chort lure doesn't appear in my alchemy tab like in the multiple walkthroughs i have watched of this quest.


so the problem occurs here

After you realize what beast you must hunt it updates your quest, during this update you should get the formula but for some reason it doesn't give it to us. the update happens after you analyze the clues in the cave where the fight was between the 2 monsters.

for now ive given up on this quest, i hope they fix the issue in a patch.

This should be found in the Quest Items (from the Inventory)!

Have the same problem, the usual mixed feelings of "at least I haven't done something wrong", mixed with "bugger there isn't a solution yet."

Open your Inventory & go to the Alchemy section, scroll down the list of recipes until you reach the very bottom of the list. Here you should see another list called "Quests" this is where the recipe for Chort lure is.
If the formula is not in the Alchemy section then it is indeed bugged

All formula that are either bought, looted, rewarded or given to you will be automatically added to the list of recipes in Alchemy

I haven't seen the Chort Lure in the Alchemy section; I found everything in the Inventory -> Quest Items section.

What finally made it work (the lure had been in the inventory already) had been:

TAB >>> select the lure
walk to the right places
middle mouse click to place the lure.

Should have been obvious, I know - but anyway it works now.

Kiera Meitz sells the Chort Lure formula.

I think the problem is you haven't examined everything in the cave. There's the tracks, the both of the fiend and chort, the fiends mouth, the blood pools. Once you examine everything the quest updates and that chort lure appears in the alchemy section for you to craft, all that way on the bottom by the quest items.
