This upgrade for Quen doesn't seem to work for me. When the shield breaks the enemies don't get pushed back. They continue their attack as if nothing happened. I want to use this ability but I'm not sure if it's a bug. It's really annoying.
Do you have it equipped?

I didn't really find it very useful on base quen either. The quen bubble seems to work better with the knockback.

Hi,

Yes I have it equipped. I even upgraded it to level 3 and did some test fights against humans and monsters but the upgrade doesn't have any effect. It doesn't work for single or groups of enemies. I hope it's a bug otherwise it's just a waste of points.

Hello,
The enemy would have to next to you within the radius of the blast (which is very small) in order to knock them back. I find it only works when the enemy is doing a follow up attack after the first hit....it works just not as useful.
It works for me most of the time but I noticed that with certain enemies such as the golems or anything bigger.

If that's the case, I think I'll just ignore this skill.

Thanks for the help guys.

I mentioned this before, but it seems to work better with the healing bubble quen. When you have a couple extra unspent points, I suggest you make a save, then try them out together.

I forgot about that. I'll give it a try. Thank you!
Quen knockback also doesn't work if enemies are particurarly sturdy/higher level. It migh vary by difficulty as well? I'm playing on the highest and it seems to work fine on normal enemies i.e. it knocks them back (not all of them if they attack in quick succession and break the shield), a few times even knocked them down. However when I was fighting higher level enemies (red skull) they just broke it with the first attack and kept swinging at me, same for big dudeslike golems, wyverns etc.
