Bought the physical copy of the game, on the back of the box it says 'Internet REQUIRED to install'.

Is this really true? I could have sworn that I read somewhere that the physical copy wouldn't require anything like this.

The Patch 1.01 is needed for playing, which must be downloaded first. That was communicated quite some time now.

But that only affects the copies produced before launch (19th of May). Any Box produced now will have the patch included.
