Hello, I'm having an issue with TW3 on my brand new PC. It worked okay at first, and I played a solid 11 hours in 4 days. However, I'm experiencing a weird sort of crash every 5 minutes or so, sometimes quicker : the screen goes black, displays "no signal found, and the fans in my computer go crazy. I generally have to turn it off and on again manually : it's not possible for me to go back to desktop or anything.

I tried to update my pilots, but they seem to be fine. I then went to the support page of the game, and did the following :

-deactivated the NVIDIA camera
-Verified if I had GeForce experience on. Seems that I haven't : when I click it, it asks of me to create an account, that I don't possess.
-Out of hope, I deactivated the Gog Overlay. Didn't change a thing.
-Launched the install verifier, which told me my game was OK.

I'm kind of out of solutions here... I hope it's not a hardware problem : so I'm downloading another game to see if the problem persists with it. Problem is, my most recent game is... TW2 (last game I could play before I went 7 years game-less), which is way less voracious than its successor, so I don't know if the test will be pertinent.

My configuration :

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Hexa core 3,4 GHz
16 Go RAM
NVidia GeForce GTX 1060 6 Go
Win 10 Family 64 bits

Ludallan: : the screen goes black, displays "no signal found, and the fans in my computer go crazy.
Well it could be a number of things, but your description points to either overheating, bad fans or (if you're lucky) dodgy drivers. But first of all NEVER overlook the obvious: check ALL of your connections, inside the box and out. Try running the computer without stressing it, so that means no games or other software that my put stress of your video card (symptoms point to that). Try changing drivers. Go back to older drivers and see if there's any difference. TURN DOWN your graphics settings. If you try all the obvious troubleshooting steps and you still get the same symptoms, odds are that it is either a hardware issue (graphics cards, fans, overheating etc) or could even be faulty components.

Went to search for drivers on the NVIDIA website... Seems that my driver wasn't up to date after all. Installed new drivers, reset everything back to default except the settings of the game (went for "medium" preset quality) ,and, again, the hellish bug.

Went to check the connections : they semm good, and, hell, I don't think I could type this message if they were not, right ?

I will contact my computer's seller, and see if they find the problem... Or try after a real restart tomorrow.

EDIT : where can I find older drivers ?

What PSU do you have?

pigulici: What PSU do you have?
It's a Corsair CX 450 M.
Try to test the system with 3dmark or Unigine, to see if it is from game or something else, also look at the health o storage(if it is hdd, give scan for bad sectors).
What version of nvidia drivers do you use?

How do I look at the health of storage ? It's a brand-new SSD. The computer is literally 4 days old. I'll run the tets and come back.

Driver is 419.35, out in the betginning of March, without GeForce Experience.

Thank you all for your answers ! Hopefully with your help I can solve the problem.

You can use Crystaldiskinfo to see the health of the ssd(or the software from producer of the ssd) + better to try a nvidia driver before 4xx(those have bugs with Witcher 3), I use with my gtx1080 the driver 399.24, also use DDU to uninstall the nvidia driver(tu be sure that are not leftover). didi you have all the drivers for the motherboard and last bios installed?
Je parle Francais tres mal....

Nvidia's website will have older drivers. How old? I do not know.

When the monitor reports no signal, it is serarching for input and not finding any, just like it would without a PC hooked up to it.

I am sorry but to me this sounds like a heardware problem. My first suspicion is an overheating issue. Can you contact the PC maker's tech support and talk to them? This would be best as what you are seeing is not normal.

If not,can you download Speedfan, and use that to take a look at temps? Install Speedfan and click around, it's fairly intuitive but I'm sure there's a youtube video as well.

Run Speedfan, start the game, and then try alt+tabbing to view Speedfan and note temps.

My last PC experienced a dying PSU due to overheating and it would re-start randomly. An 80 dollar PSU fixed that. Your descrtiption sounds more like a video card issue to me. Typically vdieo cards don't get much hotter than 80*C and Nvidia cards seem to run a bit hotter, to about 85*C under load. My old Nvida however would rocket to 80*C and then stay there like a rock.

I hope you can find an easy fix. I'd really try to get in touch with tech support for your machine. Don't void your own warranty.

Bonne chance mon ami, et ne te laissez pas decourager! You will solve this problem.

Check this site:https://bit.ly/2HpoAZf. It's a link to Guru3D, where you can find older drivers than those available on the Nvidia website.

Okay, so I've tried a few things :

-downloaded 3Dmark. Any benchmark crashes the computer.
-Tried older drivers. Computer crashes even quicker.
-Installed driver using automatic update, which makes me go back to the driver I used to play 10 hours before the first bugs. Crash, even quicker.
-I can still use my computer to write this, to browse the net, watch youtube... It crashes only whenever I try to play videogames.

Seems hardware. I'll turn to the machine's seller : they're big, and they have a reputation for good service... I hope it's justified ! ^^

It's justified. They have an obligation to sell you a fully working computer. They did not.

Probably it's a GPU issue. Whenever it switches to 3D graphics, you experience problems. As Hickory mentioned, it's justified to RMA the hardware.
