I was just wondering if there is a reiable place I can find the patch notes for Witcher 3 seeing as 1.01 made the game unplayable for me.

1.01 is the day-1-patch. The PC version doesn't run at all without it.
GOG usually shows a changelog in its game shelf. There's a little dropdown menu for each game with a Changelof section. Unfortunately it isn't there yet for TW3 and I haven't seen a proper announcement in the official Witcher forum either:

If you don't care too much about reliability, just do a web-search, several gaming websites published the changes done with 1.01

Since the current Patch 1.03 GOG has added the changelog in the game shelf. Just select it from the "MORE" dropdown menu when you're on the detail page of the game.
