I do not use GOG - Galaxy and I want my Witcher 3 updated to 1.12. Right now its on version 1.11 and I cannot update because of some error that is supposed to be shown in patch_log.txt file, but I have no idea where that file appears - I checked the game directory, system Temp files, etc. It is nowhere!

I also had to use a .reg file to get the GOG updates to recognize the game's location. Here's the info and it WORKED because the update does recognize the directory, but for some reason it fails to install of some error that should be in patch_log.txt file I cannot find..:

Maybe I used the wrong version "2.0.0.41" for the game patched to 1.11???

You are showing as from the United States. Given the above, is it possible you have downloaded the incorrect language installer, and that's what the error is about... localisation?

No, I specifically wanted Russian version and I have all the language packs, but yes - I do live in the USA, but its hard to part with my native Russian language, especially if a game has excellent voice acting!

Then I suggest completely removing any mods you have. If the updater is trying to verify files for patching, and mods have changed them, you could very well get an error without it being logged.

To fix your problem you have to change your BUILD from 28 to 41
That seemed to do the trick for me.
