It seems the new quest in the game to get the Netflix Witcher gear bugs the game's music somehow. If you play the game normally and have not done the quest, the music files will play normally.

However, if you have started the new quest, a few things will happen, mostly related to music either not playing at all in some areas or playing versions that do not sound right (i.e. missing lyrics/instruments, etc.) Most notably, a fan favorite - Fields of Ard Skellig or Ard Skellig Village - now either has complete silence when outside in Ard Skellig, or it plays a weird version of the song with no violins and no lyrics. I've tested this thoroughly and the trigger for this bug is the starting of the new quest by talking to the priest of the Eternal Fire outside of the Devil's Pit. Note: THERE IS NO WAY TO RESTORE THE MISSING MUSIC EVEN IF YOU RELOAD THE FILE. So something with this quest permanently bugs the sound files on that save file for good.

Also as soon as i reload a save in Velen, the game non-stop plays the music that was playing in the cave from the Netlix quest. Just a fast travel to another area fixes this temporarly but many songs just never play now or play in a different version.

Where can i report such problems to CDPR because nobody seems to talk about problems like that?
All i read is ray tracing problems but just disable ray tracing and the game runs fine. For me problems like missing songs just break the immersion too much and destroy the whole feeling from areas like Skellige.

Even as early as White Orchard, I've had instances of music not playing. In some cases, meditating seems to cure the issue, at least temporarily.

This sounds bad man...

I am waiting for a patch before starting new game plus but according to CDPR on Twitter it seems fixing ray tracing performance on Intel GPU's has higher priority than fixing bugs from the main game...

I really hope they focus on fixing problems with the main game instead of focusing too much on ray tracing. The game is not using native DX12, so nobody should hope for playable performance with raytracing, except you own a 40 series card and use DLSS 3.

As I expected they should have delayed this version again and looking at the current state it will take until 2023 and some patches to make this game playable without immersion breakers like missing music. If they at all are aware of the music issue, because everybody just cries out about ray tracing which will never run as good as in Cyberpunk because of the DX12 wrapper they use in Witcher 3.
Does nobody else have this issue or is it possible to fix it?

It is really immersion breaking when the no music at all is playing or always the wrong music when i reload a save.

Yes, I have it even worse: the music and the voices get muted. Only the effects are still audible. This happens as early as the Kaer Morhen Intro. I have no idea how to fix it.
After a lot of trying i fixed the issues.

After reading a post from a fellow on Reddit, I just gone back to the roots and fixed it the same way how i fixed it back in 2015/2016...

JUST ENTER THE SEWERS IN NOVIGRAD!!!

...this fixed all my audio related issues. I know it sounds strange but it works.

Hopefully this helps out some of you with the same issue.
Hello, I had the same problem and it works! Thank you.
The same issue happened to me: After visiting the Netflix quest, the tense music of the quest just carried on playing no matter where I was or what I was doing (including in battle and gwent).

I tried the Novigrad solution and it worked, thanks for the suggestion I appreciate it. It was really annoying to head over to Novigrad before I wanted to though, it ruined the immersion of my playthrough.

If there was no solution to it, I would've just stopped playing and waited for a patch or roll-back to a previous version of the game. I really hope this gets solved relatively quickly because it is very immersion breaking.
Thank you, the sewers seem to have worked. That's a hilarious fix
Does the sewer method also fix the altered music bug? I can still the oxenfort and Skellige music, but they're weird like they're missing some instruments.

Can I enter the Novigrad sewers with minimal use of the main quests?

The quest has ruined all my saves. I loaded an older version saves from the previous playthroughs and now all of them have a music bug. The complete version of Ard Skellig no longer plays.
I even went into the sewers in novigrad, the one where the herbalist opens for me and Triss, and it didn't fix the issue.

I went to the harbor where the large ships are and went into the sewers until the music changed. Fixed it for me.
I am happy that I was able to help some of you folks out!
I wouldn't hope for any fix to this issue because it is present since launch in some form. I had the same issues in 2016 and some quests just trigger music that breaks the audio in-game. The sewers in Novigrad seem to be a magical place and contain some sort of sound reset points or something like that. Witcher 3 seems to have really odd sound systems and mixing that break really fast.

I wanted to play Witcher 3 in the holidays but CDPR felt forced to release this patch in 2022 so this version feels rushed and unpolished and nobody should expect any patches before mid january. Releasing such a big patch just 2 weeks before the holidays was just a bad decision and CDPR should just stop giving any timelines on their projects. A better release would have been february 2023 with more testing from external people.

I am still waiting for that patch but i feel like this patch will also break new things...

Just enter from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fRfZc-aYXc

Wait till the sewer music starts playing and this should fix all music issues. It also brought back the default version of "Fields of Ard Skellig" with all the instruments and voices.

Sewers don't fix it for me.

It is fine at first when fast raveling to a waypoint. But it soon breaks again, when for example saving the game. Or when entering inventory. Or when entering a conversation. Or when traveling across the world.
Try fast travelling to the Royal Palace in Vizima then back to wherever you are. This fixed it for me.
