Hello all,

This has been bothering me from day one. I cannot adapt the volume with my media keys when The Witcher 3 is running.
To adapt sound volume, I need to tab out of the game, adapt volume, return to the game.

That's 2 steps too much...

I'm having the same issue. I then read on a forum that the Witcher 2 had the same problem, and that it didn't get fixed. Funny thing is that tabbing out to the Steam overlay is quicker than tabbing out entirely. But we can't add the game to the steam library because we gave GOG a chance. :D I really don't want to re-install this game just to be able to change the volume. Have you found a way yet?

Nope, no solution as of yet.

I really hope the devs will read this and do something about it. :'(
Yep, STILL have this issue.

This combined with the inability to pause cutscenes has caused a few very frustrating episodes while playing and receiving phone calls...

Binding "regular" keys for movement still does not work, either. Some keys still are hardcoded.

And tabbing out of the game sometimes crashes it for me. :/

Let's keep asking for improvements. CDPR does make patches, but some issues... drag

"Sir, could you wait a second? I'm currently watching an unskippable cutscene and the story is so good I don't want to miss it."
"Witcher 3?"
-"Yeah!"
"Oh I'll wait, that game is great, except that you can't use media buttons on various keyboards."

Game is awesome but this seems, you know, elemental :) I wonder what's causing the problem, maybe some sort of proprietary code, exploit patching, or just the way the game is built?

So it's not just me! Have a Logitech G710+ and would also like to be able to use the media keys in game.

As for locked keys, under the keybinding menu isn't there a "Lock" toggle that allows you to lock or unlock the bound keys?
This bothers me considerably.

My expensive mech keyboard's media keys don't work, nor does my logitech headset with media keys on the cups. Games where I'm exploring the world are best played while listening to podcasts or music from my collection, but to do that when you have random cutscenes triggering and dialog that pops up unexpectedly requires far too much micromanagement. It was one of my biggest pet peeves in the witcher 2, but to see it also in witcher 3 is frustrating.

I can solve it by routing all my podcasts through to mp3 format and playing it on my tablet, but that doesn't work when I have to use headphones to avoid disturbing others. Nor should I have to do it, when enabling media keys should be a fairly simple fix.

Alt-Tab makes game to pause cutscene.

That is good to know. For when my kids walk in during certain scenes and I don't want to miss anything. Of the dialogue. Obviously...

Foobar in combination with Foobar controller on android is my temporary fix. (don't know about iOS) Turns your smartphone into a pc music remote ;)
Same issue here. Media keys are busted. Annoying a bit I must say.
