Out of all the nvidia ini tweaks and graphical tweaks I've messed with, reshade/sweetx... all of it, oddly enough this has been the best one I've found so far.

Now I know this sounds, but believe it or not I don't think this game was intended to be played with more than 30fps. At 48-55fps on my gtx 980 overclocked with ultra settings I notice extreme camera lurching problems when moving around.

The only way I can describe the issue when you play with more than 30fps is that it acts like fps hitching/stuttering is occurring and the movement just feels really sluggish. It's like the camera itself can't properly tether itself smoothly to geralt when the FPS is over 30. It makes the game feel extremely sluggish. It's almost like the opposite of how 30 fps SHOULD feel compared to 50fps. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

So I was messing around and just for the sake of testing it, I had locked the framerate to 30 which is available in the video options, to see what would happen. Bam, every single movement and sluggish issue that I was having at 48-50fps completely vanished. It almost felt like I was playing at 60 fps after I did this, I kid you not, it is totally bizarre. I do not think this game was properly configured for higher framerates.

Like I said, I know this sounds ridiculous, but it actually works. Try it out and let me know. I was shockingly surprised when I did it. It just doesn't feel like 30 fps feels in other games, and for whatever reason the camera is way smoother than 50fps.
I don't know dude for me it looks rose at 30 Fps. I have a windforce gtx 970 and I'm running everything on ultra with all those Nvidia hair works on etc, and I'm getting over 65fps and the game looks amazing and also just fine without any problems, I did what you said and at 30FPS game looked worse and I could see my screens pixels refreshing which looked bad.

What ? How are you getting 65fps with a 970? That's way higher than my overlocked 980 -_-

Also I'm not getting any of those issues you're describing at all at 30fps. If you can see your pixels refreshing then you're not using ultra texture streaming values. 30fps or 60fps isn't going to change pixel streaming rendering quality whatsoever.

I got all my textures on max but the problem for the pixels only happens when I cap my FPs which is weird. And I don't know my 970 is overclocked to 1500mhz and I couldn't be happier with this gam everything is working perfectly.

Actually the only problem I've noticed is that I get no volume whatsoever when there's that weird animated drawing cutscene and from what I'm reading in the subtitles it's the one dandelion always narrates which is weird Because all the other cutscenes are perfect. I've heard in these forums it's a bug etc so I guess I just gotta wait for them to fix it.

Have you patched your graphics card drivers to the latest version? I often find issues like this (and even bluescreening) is caused by out of date drivers, might be an idea just to check.

From what I'm hearing the old drivers (347.88) are actually better for 6 and 7 series cards.

Hmm interesting I will have to check the version I'm running when I get home tonight, I must admit I often fail to keep them up to date myself (which is why I put the question forward, it's something I would do).
locking to 30fps is kinda wierd
i did this early on bc w/ hairworks i noticed dips but when i put it at 30, well i didnt check to make sure it stayed 30 but im 99% i wouldnt drop below 30 fps, never seen it on my system. anyway im not a big 30/60 guy, 30 looks smooth a lot of the time to me, but there was a substatntial difference for me. i ve just turned hairworks off for now to keep 60fps all times, and it is much better.

but, i do recommend doing what the OP said & locking it at 30, if you dont notice a difference, go with it! no shame in tha t ...

i think for me some of it has to do w/ the controls already not feeling precise and then at 30 its just made that much more problematic.
