I'm enjoying Witcher 3 a lot but the one question that baffles me all the time is why is my level so low when I'm basically close to the ending of the game (or am I not?).

I love completing side quests and I believe I did most of them, in all lands except Kaer Morhen. I also visited like 99% landmarks on the map (protected treasures, etc). I just did the first quest in Kaer Morhen and I am only level 25.

With the requirement on the mastercrafted witcher sets being around 30-34, and there being an achievement for level 35 (iirc) one could think it should be possible to reach that level while completing almost everything in the game. I have like 3 story quests left and that will be the end. Does that mean you have to grind on monsters to reach higher levels or am I missing something?

After Kaer Morhan it's still a long way to go (more than you think...) and it will give you a huge amount of xp. You'll easily reach 30+

Same thing here.. Just did Kaer Morhen and was also level 25, Didn't do everything, but I sure as hell covered a lot of gound. I do find the exp'ing in this game to fluctuate quite a bit.

On a side note, love the easter eggs I found up tp now:
- Snow white (Ciri and the 7 dwarves)
- Game of thrones air cell
- DRM :)

Almost the same here. 22 level and already hit Kaer Morhen yesterday evening. Was going to post similar thread asking am I at the end of the game already.

Still would be interesting to know in % how much is left..

I worry about this as well. My next mission is the "Mist..." one and I worry about how much game time is left on the main storyline. I'm at level 26.

I guess you could say everything that happens after Kaer Morhen is ~15-20% of the main story.

By the time you finish the main storyline, you will get another 8-10 levels from level 25. You will be able to roam free again halfway through the finale, so no need to rush with the high level witcher quests and mastercrafted gear.
