Ini tweaks, have a look at Nexus.
Wow.
I never thought I would hear something like this.
I am glad cdpr let you turn this 'feature' off.
I like the effect, mostly for screenshots, and i like the faux 3d effect it gives to games

Quite beautiful!
Did you found how to do that in game?
Awful and overdone :P

This is maybe too much, but in Witcher 2 there was a such depht of field effect!

It had a different level design. You did not see it as clearly as you can in Witcher 3. Heavy depth of field was used to create a blurry effect on the places unreachable.

Well, you may be right.
I personally would still give it a try in w3, because the very far landscape is poorly rendered IMO, with very few detail. A little bit of DOF could maybe help.

But another thing is that DOF created by a lens heavily depends of focus distance (farthest focus distance = least DOF).
And in W3, Geralt is much further from the camera than in W2, which leads to less DOF (in a huge proportion).

Would be nice to have options for those extreme souls who love extreme DOF :) More power to the PC users!
An option would be nice! Or maybe a mod will do that.

OR they could give us an option to increase the detail of very far landscape. Let us unleash our PC horsepower, dammit ;)
resurrecting thread. With so-called "Ultimate lighting mod," it is now possible to diminish / eliminate the fog that restricts view distance; a side effect of this is that distant objects appear quite clunky. Would be nice to soften them with a bit more DOF.
