I think it is more about survival and just not caring at all, rather than good taste. I would like to have an option to fish, maybe fishing contests even in some of the major villages and cities? Cooking food for more effective healing sounds good too. Witchers did actually cook with Igni :P It doesn't need to be anything special but it would serve as a nice game mechanic.

I could see this being modded in pretty easily. Just add some alchemy recipes, no?

That would work. Just call for the raw meats/organs as material and use the other prepared foods found in game as the result.
