i'm not even kidding when i say that i've put nearly 200 hours into this game

so here's the issue: for all of those 200 hoursa my computer was able to run the game ultra everything (minus hairworks) perfectly fine at the lowest 52 fps. i've beaten the main game twice and done both of the dlc's with satisfactory performance.

so after that i put the game down for awhile, recently i came back to it to play it again and since then there has been a few GPU driver updates and a few game updates (both of which i keep up on) and NOW it's like suddenly my computer cannot run the game anymore, i'm talking 25fps and a few times it crashed not only the game but actually made my entire computer restart (which is notary of the BSoD) this is crazy!

so i don't know if the newest nvidia drivers suck or the newest 1.31 patch to the game sucks but for whatever reason i can't run it anymore.

things i've tried:
verifying the game files
started a brand new save file and game
turning the graphics to the absolute lowest
turning the GOG game overlay off

sadly none of those things helped :(
so i'm at a loss if anyone has any ideas

Comp Specs:

GTX 970
16gb DDR3 ram
750w PCU
AMD Fx8350 (water cooled not overclocked)

750 watts seems a bit low to me for your setup,I would of thought 1000 watts. And it could be a simple bug in 1.galaxy 2. game 3. update. On the wattage,I'm no expert and could be on the wrong track and I can remember having 1200 watts in my 486:-)

Really? I think maybe your memory is a little confused. Generally, 486 PSUs came in the low hundreds. A 1200 watt PSU is overkill for most modern PCs.

No way. I just calculated it on bequiet.com and it neeeds 398 max. based on the CPU and GPU. Add 100 and you're at 500.

To be absolutely sure that your settings have nothing to do with the performance you could install a second os on your harddrive (shrink your current partition and add another) and check the performance.

My mistake,I took it as power wattage.

First, I suggest rolling back your drivers to what they were when you last had acceptable performance. As you likely know, driver "upgrades" are not necessarily indicative of improved software. Your card and PSU should be sufficient for this game. Driver updates are often not recommended unless you are having difficulties running a game.

Next, check how much disk space you have left on both your main drive and whichever drive you have W3 installed on, if they differ. Also make sure you haven't recently installed any new software that may be hogging RAM.

You may also consider opening up the case while it's running to confirm all of your case/CPU/GPU fans are operating normally to verify you're getting proper cooling.

If none of this helps, then you should open a support ticket on CDPR's website.
I know it's an old tip but you could also try to defrag your HDD because W3 is streaming a lot of data.
Have you considered the possibility that your system is infected? You should check for various types of malware.

Also - mods?

i think i may try the driver rollback, question really is im totally unsure as to which recent driver is the culprit and how far to go back, there has easily been 2 possibly 3 updates since the last time i played

Hi again....I solve the issue for me...i download the driver 368.22...and unistall the latest driver...(clean all the Data for Nvidia drivers)...then install without gforce experience...only the drivers...until now works for me...
...no mods...no virus...
