I already downlaoded the next-gen on PS5 because it's already out here in Philippines. I've connected my PSN acct to my GOG account, but I don't know how to access my cloud save.
Jak?

When loading a save game there should be a load cloud-save option.
Also make sure cloud saves are enabled on Galaxy.
If moving from ps5 to PC, load your current game and make a new save.

yeah, I already figured it out a few hours ago. The next-gen version was released earlier on console that's why I wasn't able to do it. now that it's released on PC, the cross progression was already available and it transferred smoothly. thanks!

Were you able to transfer from PC (Steam or GOG) to PS5? How?

According to GameSpot you cannot do that! Only PS4 <-> PS5 (which I tested), or PS5 to PC.

I'm downloading the update on Steam atm.

I also sought GameSpot advice first and I thought there's no hope, but thankfully they are wrong.

I updated both PC and PS5 versions of the game, so now both are running the next-gen version.

Since my PSN acct is linked to my GOG, I loaded my save file on PC. then I hit options, went to "Save Game", then at the bottom right it says "C" for Cross Progression. I hit "C" and it gave a dialogue box that says that save file will be uploaded to cloud save. Then a cloud icon appeared at the right side of the save file which indicates that the save file is already in the cloud.

then on my PS5, I selected 'load game', and the save file from GOG is already there. I loaded that save file and it worked smoothly.
in order to have access to the savestates, does the pc version must be installed and updated as well or does the nextgen console version load the current savestates from the the gog cloud? i acutally do not want to install the pc version as well. just want access to my savestates. :)

you gotta install the pc version. you have to upload it to the cloud in the game's menu
EDIT: It finally worked. I just played on PS5 for ~10 minutes, tinkering with options and getting used to the controls and then made another save file. This time however the little cloud icon did show up on the save file and now I can see it on Steam version as well! All is not lost! Enjoy the trip friends and good luck on the path!

I have Complete Edition on Steam. I had base game on PS4. I also had the GoG free copy (I think it's again base game). I haven't had the game installed for years. Now I have downloaded both PC (on steam) and PS5 versions. I am still struggling with connecting the accounts.

Initially I logged into GoG Galaxy and connected my Steam account. I also tried connecting the PSN account but could not due to that error message (something about no connection to server). I launched the game on both platforms. I created a new save file on version 4.00. On the PS5 when I selected cross platform I was given the QR and after I scanned it I was allowed to enter my GoG account. I did and I was awarded the rewards from MyRewards and also it looked like I was now successfully connected to my GoG account on the PS5.

After a few restarts on everything I am still not able to see my save files from the other platform. In both games on Steam and PS5 I can see that I am connected to this GoG account, but files can't be seen. In the PC version on Steam I can see the little cloud icon next to the save file details, and on PS5 the icon is missing.

Back on the GoG Galaxy app it still doesn't show my PSN account connected to it.

I tried the same and also did it!

The trick is to simply load a save file on steam, and save it again so it becomes a 4.00 save file.
After that, it will appear on the ps5.
