Can someone please tell me how to go back to DX11 version; this DX12 update is horrible.
Just run game from witcher.exe in bin\x64 folder in game instalation directory, create shurtcut if you want.
Well, guess I am not the only one who doesn't go to the Start menu,

ok will try thanks
Typically games either launch the highest or react to "-dx11" in the launch options. The default desktop shortcut as the DirectX 12 version for Windows 10 only is an incredibly bad idea for many reasons, one of which is the fact of it saying "Works on: 7, 8," but making what won't work the default. CD Projekt Red must stop smoking strange stuff from the street, do make it not default or a separate option in the settings that can be enabled for supported systems and can be manually disabled.

It can be changed even in GOG application:

Ain't going to install GOG Galaxy!

The short point being is the default will and may confuse the users it was made for, must be fixed, is a bug (slight, but a bug nevertheless). If this did not mention 7/8.1, I could not say a word. Since it did, must repeat what ELEX II does, DX11 must be the desktop shortcut or self-enable when available.
I ended up just re-installing with the DX11 offline installer I forgot I had backed up on an external drive. Good golly that DX12 update is more like a virus than anything. Even my i9 10920X/32GB RAM/RTX 3080Ti system was choppy AF with this awful DX12 update.
