I'm supposed to search around the tower but there are no waypoints there , can anyone tell me how to get there please?? thank you

I am guessing you have found treasure-hunt maps that tell you to go there?
You will not be able to get there before you reach a certain point in the game. Just solve the main-quests at your desired pace - then eventually you will get to Kaer Morhen, where you will be able to search for gear etc. Have fun :-)
