Microsoft and Sony don't care about the Scoia'Tael.
It just boggles my mind as for why they bothered setting up that story arc with Iorveth and Saskia, not to mention you could even ignore Triss and go save the dragon from the mind-control-spell/curse....and then that doesn't impact part 3 either. Dunno, the decisions seemed like a big deal in Witcher 2 and honestly I expected them to impact part 3 as well. This is kinda like the Rachni queen in Mass Effect...only that Witcher 2's "Rachni queen" doesn't even get mentioned, whereas Mass Effect had at least the courtesy to include it as a shitty war asset and an even shittier side-mission. Completely ignoring not just important decisions from the previous title (actually it's rather half of the entire game) feels just horribly wrong from a storytelling perspective and frankly I'm really surprised that not many people are pissed about it. Roche is there. Iorveth is not. What gives?

Don't get me wrong, Witcher 3 is an outstanding game and the story is stellar - hence why I'm shocked to see CD Project screwing the players for siding with Iorveth in Witcher 2. Not even mentioning him in the finale feels just wrong.

They went to trouble in creating a useless Nilfgaardian base (Army Group Center, where are the tanks? haha) outside Velen and Novigrad but they never bothered inserting Iorveth or the Scoiatel?

Had an encounter with a band but ended killing all of them.
Rescued an elf damsel in distress I ended up being insulted.
Got friendly with a dwarf blacksmith it turns out his arse will be handed to him in the end.
I'm confused. Iorveth, no matter what you choose in W2, is important. So, the Roche path is canon. I don't buy it. Even if it is, and I have played both paths, the Iorveth path carries just as much weight and importance as the Roche path. The paths are essentially two separate games and there is no indication that one should take precedence over the other.

Even if we assume that Roche is canon (frankly I see nothing anywhere that says it is, it's all down to the player's preferences) Iorveth is a big character in the game and smaller characters than him have been allowed to make guest appearances in W3. Even characters from the books, that haven't appeared in the previous games.

Some argue that including the Iorveth path would have meant having to add even more alternate stories and outcomes in W3, not to mention a very different start off point. This just shows a lack of imagination.

I can understand that CDPR can't take the already huge W3 and add another start off point based on the existence of Vergen and the non human alliance. However, why not simply slip in information about how the alliance collapsed due to inner strife? Dwarves and Elves don't get along all that well anyway and Dandelion even mentions in his W2 narration that "if not for Henselt's army making camp nearby, the whole rabble would have been at each other's throats in no time".

Then they could have dropped that alternate reality and simply have Iorveth appear in a side quest somewhere, involving Scoia'tael and some delicious morality tale about 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter' etc. Saskia could be with him, or not. She's a dragon for crying out loud! I'm sure they could have thought of a plausible reason for her withdrawal, at least for the time being. It might have been a bit of a cop out but a lot more satisfying than having some guy mentioning Iorveth in passing, letting you over hear it, if you are lucky. That's so pathetic they might as well have left it out.

Considering CDPR's track record so far, W3 is amazing and I loved the previous games too, I was convinced they were saving Iorveth for a DLC. But now it looks like he will remain simply forgotten, disappointing the many players that choose his half of the W2 game.

CDPR deserves a slap on the wrist for that one.
W3 was a total let down for me. I didn't want to believe the downgrade fiasco of last year. But it came true and I'm not talking about just graphics. M$ money bought them off and we got a console port game aka multiplatform. Still I had to finish story so I did that but never touch it again. I felt many of the choices from the first two stories had no consequence in W3. I don't even know why they called it W3 when its different from its predecessor? So much content cut out. Shame.

Wolfehunter: M$ money bought them off and we got a console port game aka multiplatform.
a) The game also came out for PS4 at the same time it did for all other platforms so clearly, Microsoft has nothing to do with anything
b) It's not a console port, the game was developed for all platforms simultaneously. To be a console port, title needs to first be released on a console and then ported to PC, like Dragon's Dogma.
