Should my i73770k be running 100 percent load on all cores when playing? .Happened to look using afterburner when game crashed after about 1 hour.Max temp was 73.Is this normal? (No overclock, stock cooler.)
I don't think so. I'm running a Phenom II X6 1045T@3780 Mhz OC and my CPU load is about 30%, sometimes 50% max. And 73 degrees is way too hot, even if you're running an AMD CPU. 71 Degrees is the maximum for Phenoms for example and that's pretty damn hot...

My cpu is a very similar architecture, the 2600K. I don't see any core usage above 50%. I overclock, use after market cooling, and live in a completely different climate. All that said, my temps peak in the 50s.
Your temp is even good for 100% cpu usage as that one do run rather hot, max temp is 100C and after it will shut down.

100% cpu load is not fine at all though! Witcher 3 should be no match for your computer so either you where doing some video rendering on the side or something on your system was out of whack.
Check process cpu usage and maybe it will tell something useful.
Either that or your cpu downclocks to save electricity which you don't usually want while playing a game.
it is definitly not normal, your cpu can handle this game easy peasy, something else (or a huge bug) is messing with your cpu.
According to Afterburner, CPU load goes up to 95% to 100% on all four cores for me as well. Using an i5-3570 and a GTX 960 here. Core temperature goes up to about 66 degrees Celsius. ( Stock CPU cooler. )

I have no idea if this is normal, or if there's something weird going on. The game seems to run fine, though. Only had one crash during about 20 hours total game time, and several of those "freezes" which supposedly have been fixed with the latest patches.

Going min settings and resolution I can peak 114 fps in witcher and my cpu usage is mostly high 20% and had one or two peaks up to 34% on my 2700k. Would need at the very least 2 titan x to have a chance to hit cpu cap in witcher 3 it would seem.

So quite perplexing that you'd be able to hit 100% usage.
@OP are you playing via the Galaxy client?
I don't know if it's the same issue, but I was getting 100% usage on all cores even in the initial Main Menu. Turning on Vsync solved it. Strangely, setting an FPS limit in the game but with vsync off I would still get 100% core usage.

I had the exact same problem. When I didn't have vsync on and unlimited fps enabled my cpu usage would go up to ~90% in the menus/inventory/shops. No clue why it was doing that but once I turned vsync on it was fine. So many bugs with the coding of this game. I now have the zero xp bug for every single quest I turn in, no matter what level it is. Going to be a fun weekend.

After re testing CPU usage seems now normal !The only thing I can think of something must have been happening in the background ,anti virus scan possibly.
ive also been experiencing high cpu usage with this game and a cpu temp around 57-60 to 65ish and a max cpu temp of 68 ºc .
gpu temp around 60 to a max of 70ºc
i got the game settings tweaked on high/med/ low settings with a resolution of 1360x768.
blur is off.

specs:
asus gtx 750 ti oc 2gb (havent overclocked it myself)
i5 4590 3.3 ghz (stock cooler and havent overclocked it myself)
ripjawx 8gb ram
asus bm85-e/csm
Hmm the game always needs high CPU (above 80%) on my 2500k, no matter where I am or what I change with vsync or frames.
this thread clearly needs a bump cause a lot of people (not only on this forum ) are having issues with high cpu usage and temperature issue too.

I have the same CPU as you and never went past 50%. I'm playing on high with hairworks off, water and texture on ultra, with frame limits at 60 and vsync on. Did you checked if your antivirus started to scan, or maybe other updates?
