Hello to everyone! I am new here, I just fell in love at Lucca comics and Games with the Witcher 3 the wild hunt!
Although I installed it a variety of times in my pc this is an error that pops up saying DirectX 11 is required as a minimal requirement but I do have it in my pc as I show in the image
Could you please give me a hint to fix it?

I would like to try it on my pc

You probably have Windows 10 and have to enable DirectPlay. Open Control Panel and go to Programs and Features. Click 'Turn Windows features on or off'. Scroll down to 'Legacy Components' and check-mark DirectPlay. Reboot if asked.
Hi Daniela, welcome on GOG.
Please, post your computer specifications and your operating system.

Forgive me Hickory, but I don't think the error has any relation with DirectPlay: this is a deprecated DirectX component which isn't surely required by The Witcher 3.
I agree with dr.schliemann. In this situation, we need to know your PC specifications before we can even start to help. Also, you say something is in the image, but there is no image.

But either way, we need to know you PC specs. At the very least, we need to know what operating system and what graphics card (or CPU if you're using Intel/AMD integrated graphics). Things like the operating system is important, because even if you have a DX11 graphics card, you have to have at least Windows 7 or later in order to support DX11. And vice versa, even if you have Windows 7 or later, you need a DX11 capable GPU.

Windows 10, *spit*, decides for itself what is and is not "deprecated" and in so many situations where games will not play it is a simple matter to enable DirectPlay. The user has nothing to lose by trying.

Point of trivia: I am stuck on Windows version 1703 because Windows Update cannot update (fails every time) to anything newer. I have had to hide all "feature" updates with admin tools. I hate Windows 10.

Only outdated games could require DirectPlay, which has been dropped since DirectX 9. Anyway I agree with you: trying is harmless.

A couple of month ago, I have been in the same situation for some days: Windows refused to install a major update (1803) on my system because of reported incompatibility with my SSD. I appreciated that the update has been blocked before messing with my PC, but I was obviously worried too.
I think you should investigate further about the your update error: probably reinstalling the OS could solve it and sticking with an older release is not advisable considering the amount of an outdated Windows' vulnerabilities.

Hi there Doc.
Some people just never admit/ own their mistakes. Don't bother with the specific one.
About the issue at hand, I believe the GPU is outdated and does not support Dx11, hinted by the lack of follow-up posts from the OP, providing technical information on their system, possibly revealing unfamiliarity with PC hardware.
Also the OP might be using a pirated version with a malfunctioning executable or trying to run the game on a workstation PC.
