When hairworks is on I only get clean shaven then after a long time a full beard. When turned off the beard will grow and have many different stages. I had hair works on and he had a full beard then I turned it off he had a heavy stubble.

i read if u use the hair DLC it prevents beard growth, maybe it is only with hairworks? what sucks is once you use it you cant change it unless you restart, it wont load if u uninstall the DLC...so i get the same thingu do hes clean shaven then suddenly a full beard...sucks!

I did not have the hair DLC installed, from what I know if you have the DLC then it will still grow if you select a clean shave, but if you get a styled one then it will not.

I'm having an issue too, as soon as hair appear, it is the full beard. Normally it goes from clean, moustache stubble, short beard to long beard. May be a medium beard but don't remember.

With hairworks turned off, it works fine. With it off, it goes straight to full beard from the moustache stubble bit, I did have it revert to short beard during a cutscene and it grew fine from then on.

Maybe there is a stage missing with hairworks at the moment, or it just glitches. A shame because the beard looks miles better with hairworks.

I managed to fix this problem with "Hairworks on everything but Geralt" mod from Nexus.

Although you need to make a little modification to it, if you want to still have hairworks on hair and other beard lenghts.

1. Download QuickBMS version of this mod.
2. Proceed with installation just as in readme.txt, but before running exe, delete all files in NOHWHairBeard folder except geralt_beard03.redfur
3. Stage 2 of hairworks beard which is bugged will now be overridden by non hairworks version, therefore will have correct lenght

Of course that means there will be no perks of hairworks on stage 2 beard, so static not moving beard, but one it grows further the effects will be back.

I have this exact issue. He'll be clean shaven for a week and then one quick meditation and BOOM! Full beard! Certainly missing the inbetween phases. It's pretty funny when it happens though. I've taken to just using "full beard cut short" so I get some of the growth effect.
