TBreaker20: I don't know... I pirated Batman Arkham Knight (since it isn't on steam) and my PC handles it very well. Of course, you only get 30fps when driving, but it's still very playable. But then again, I'm using a gtx 970...

darkness58ec: ? Downvote for piracy? And randomly admitting it?
Yeah, admitting it. Why? Do you want me to keep it a secret? I just didn't feel like waiting a few months to play it on PC, so I just play it now and buy it later.

The game has been removed from Steam, he is a Pc gamer and he is saying he'll buy it later on (if they ever put it back on Steam that is), so what's the problem?

That's not piracy, the devs are getting their money, in fact I remember when the Witcher 3 came out people (who had bought the game) where downloading the game via torrent because CDPR servers where collapsing.

Anyway, totally off topic, sorry.

That's what I did. I purchased the game on GOG, but I wasn't getting very good download speeds through GOG. So I torrented a GOG version of The Witcher 3 and pointed the Galaxy client to the install path. Saved me a ton of download time.

Besides, it's not his fault that the devs didn't take their time to optimize the game better for PC and as a result, had to take the game down. He'll buy the game when it's available, so it makes no difference.

Gotta love this self-righteous BS. Please don't arrest me officer, for torrenting something I already purchased. While you're at it could you please carry on with the BS? I just got my popcorns.

I was commenting on "He'll buy the game when it's available, so it makes no difference."

How naive can you be?

If a product has already been purchased then I see nothing wrong with obtaining it any way you choose. I have no idea what the legalities surrounding that are, but personally I couldn't care less.

Condoning theft, or any other bad behavior, whether my own or someone else's is something I don't do. I find it laughable when I hear others doing so. If you're going to do something wrong, fine, we're only human and as long as it doesn't hurt another individual I typically don't see a huge moral issue. Don't try to justify it though, that's just pathetic.

I'm far from perfect and I do things I shouldn't pretty regularly. Only difference is, I don't lie to myself about it when I do.

Does that make it better somehow?

Anyway, decided I would finally bother to respond to all the 'not really piracy' people up top. If you don't own a copy of the game yet, and are opting to 'buy it later' when you feel convenient, that is still stealing. "Officer, I was gonna pay for that bread at a later point, I just ate it now without the owner's permission." That's not a defense in court and I wouldn't suggest taking something that isn't yours under that theory.

It also does make a pragmatic difference, despite the unsophisticated assumption above that it doesn't. The reason is that money has a time-value. In case you have never heard of that concept before, money which you have right now is more valuable than money you have in the future because (1) you can invest money you have right now; and (2) inflation. That makes a particularly big difference to a company. It is also pragmatically significant in that people who are opting to 'buy it later' after obtaining a torrented copy are probably going to wait until a sale. So they get the immediate benefit of possessing the game right away, without paying the premium for buying a just released game.

So there. Stuff the self-righteous ignorance.

I never said it made it better. Just the opposite actually. I simply insinuated I only live in a fantasy world when in game.

Talk about self-righteous. Dang, you got it in spades.

Back on topic...

I played a lot of F3, I really like the VATS - very clever idea for a Hybrid of stats-based and mouse-skill based combat.

But the character development seemed weak to me most of the time, both in story and stats. Skryim did that better (and Oblivion before it) by making skill increase dependent on actually using the damn thing. Something I might not have minded in W3 either.

As for Story, the characters in F3 are kinda bland, it's not as "adult". And the "use the same dungeon art elements twenty times" that Bethesda is pulling does get a bit old. I'm sure there's plenty of Art Assets being reused in W3 too but it isn't so blatant...

TLDR: W3 is GOTY. GTA V might be a contender, but it's really not as original and ground breaking.

MGSV actually looks pretty interesting, gameplay-wise. I don't think many game review sources would be willing to give a GOTY nod to GTA V, just cause it was released via console two years ago.
None of them, both are cursed with technical problems, even though Fallout 4 isn't out yet, Bethesda hasn't released a single game without problems and quest breaking bugs yet.

Metal Gear Solid V is the GoTy so far.

Metal Gear if you're into anime writing I guess.
Dem Japdevs get a free pass on random nonsense.

Fallout will win. Close to End of the year release and $$$$$ for huge marketing for ample brainwashing power.
