Hi All,
My problem is that GOG will not let me download my Witcher 3 DLC that I have already payed for and I have the code to download and the reason is that I "have not purchased The Witcher 3" but I have purchased it through Steam. Is there a workaround because although the DLC is incredibly cheap compared to Steam it is throwing away money which is insane if I cannot download the DLC that I bought simply because I did not buy the original game through GOG.
I hope you can help me.
On another note, just let me express a feeling about the game in question before you answer if you can :
I hope you are enjoying the rich and detailed law of The Witcher Series, to me from my impressions from gameplay videos and reviews it seems like The Witcher Games have quests that are more immersive than most other open world fantasy CRPGs. That to me seems to be largely because of the detailed lore and lore and character atmosphere made by the Author of the Novels the games are based on. I hope to enjoy playing The Witcher 3 myself very soon, as I have not played it yet though I have purchased all three Witcher Games.
To me story and fairy tale leading into the beginning of battle and the start and transitions into story script triggers is much more immersive than when it seems it is all B Movie style staged (like it can seem to be in some CRPGs) and from gameplay videos that type of atmospheric living immersion is done superbly in The Witcher Games.
Also the spirit of The Witcher games seems, in a more natural yet fairy tale way, to allow ones senses of what is coming to heighten rather than that lesser feeling of "oh battle has been triggered by a computer logic trigger now, better try to concentrate on winning." It is that non-verbal dialogue and the appropriate senses becoming alert and the feeling that we are The Witcher and we are thinking about every move with a deep Warrior Wisdom that seems to be invoked and it makes us one with the character, to feel for the character and environment and it draws us in enough for us to experience the living fiction of the world and characters and to learn to sense with warrior wisdom dark blurry glimpses of the future and the weight of what is about to happen.
It is good to think eloquently enough about these things in order that we might encourage game makers to not make games that feel like infantile playing with dolls without enough imagination and wisdom and truth in our play. There is nothing wrong with play if it improves us, our families, our tribes, our town, our Nation and our world. Children play very minimally when very young and their play should increase in wisdom, detail, depth and knowledge as they continue to practise. No longer should we put up with games that are mindless profit making for the Corporations or hobbyists who throw those games together hoping to excite the buyer to pay for it but without thought for improving humankind and the world we live in by giving us something to think about and contemplate. Although The Witcher Universe is violent in nature at least it offers quite a bit of Wisdom on Human nature (albeit the Nature of Warriors) in the body language the lore, the dialogue, the timing of everything, the immersion and the character development. Cheers.
Oh and please do answer my original technical problem question if you know the solution, I do desire to download the DLC I purchased and not have "burned" my money (no matter how little money it was.)
Thanks, cheers and blessings on our World.
