Hey there,

I kind of experience a lot of the game's automatics, being that lame implemented, as a bug.

One of 'em is the worst should be fixed soon (Easy solution will be presented at the end of this post):
Automatic change to combat mode

I totally hate it.

Some examples:

Gerald is in a hillside location. To move forward or backward from the spot where he is standing he needs to jump because there are (rediculously) tiny steps. which of course can not be jumped. Surprise, in the f'ing combat mode there is no jumping. So I die.
How often I wanted to jump over a gap, gettin' put into combat mode while in midair (as always.. without myself doing it), again dying, I can not count any more.

Irony mode: Can there be a counter implemented for that? Please! /end of irony

Easy solution:

Get rid of it!
Leave the coice, if combat mode or not, to the player.
How lame do You believe we are, dear game designers?

It's so easy: Combat mode begins once I draw a sword end ends, when I put it away. End of story.

I guess nobody in authority @gog will ever read this, but hey, let's give it a try.
Some user might also be able to forward this problem to a staff member, feel free to do so!

Not sure if I experienced a bug or if it intentional, but once I was in a simmilar situation in which I had to grab to the port (I was in the water) in order to get back to solid ground, while being in combat. I was rolling around like a dreidel, until I said to myself "what would happen if I HOLD Space instead of pressing it". Lo and behold, Geralt actually grabbed the ledge and pulled himself up! So, try it next time when you are in a nasty situation (I still that my experience was one of its kind, but who knows).

P.S. I know that you can't grab to stair and climb them, but you can probably find a tiny hill nearby.
