Tomorrow will mark a week since I first contacted GOG about having a bad game code in my physical copy of Witcher 3. I have yet to hear anything back other than the response where a ticket was made. I have made this complaint already in the forums (can't get a support response there either), but I suppose it was my bad choice of "subject" title that might have made them not look closer at it. Hence, the new post.

So, again, here is my problem. After I install the game, the GOG launcher pops up and downloads the day1 patch, and that is all it downloads. After that it will briefly flash "update failed" with no error code after it. Above the "connect now" button it says to get patches and DLC, connect to the GOG Galaxy launcher (how is that not a form of DRM?), but when I press the button it takes me to a screen to enter a game code. I'm assuming this is the code on the back of the game manual. When I enter it, it says "Code Already Used". The game still looked like it was factory sealed when I got it, so I doubt someone stole the code out of the box. I'm really getting annoyed that I can't get the graphics update patch and the DLC's. Before anyone tells me to download them manually, I can't because of the bad game code. I have to be able to log into the GOG launcher at least once to gain access to that stuff. Please, Support Team, give me some kind of hope that this will get resolved at some point!

Let me give you some advice on contacting support: only do it ONCE per subject. You see, the problem is if you follow up your initial post, any other reply/comment will make your ticket go to the back of the queue. Contact them and wait.

Okay,this is a contact support issue.As you have sent a request then just wait and be patient.
They will get back to you and if you send another one in,don't as it will become the first.
Try contacting Namco Bandai, they handle the boxed retail copies and the keys in them.
I havent sent any other emails since the reply back to make a ticket. I've heard that repeat replies push it to the back of the line. I only made this new topic because the first had a bad title and was in general discussion thread. I see support reply in here to other peoples posts about tickets, so it's my hope they will do the same here.
No wonder a certain company was selling The wicther 3 cheap ^^, someone most properly opened the boxs, got the codes, and shrink wraped the boxes again.

Just a theory

Sorry about the delay, your ticket wasn't tagged correctly in our system, for some reason. I have just sent you a reply, please follow up and we'll see what happened to the code.
Firek, thank you for the reply! I got the email. I will reply when I get home in about a half hour. I didn't know if I should have entered the key in the first email.

I got it sorted out. Your email, Firek, seemed to be the tipping point for GameStop to realize they shouldn't have sold me that copy. While I didn't recognize that redacted email you sent me, the clerk did. He called the guy it belonged to to verify he sold that copy. Apparently GS staff was given a free code of The Witcher 3 as a thank you. They didn't seem to understand how it was tied to the physical copy game code. But they must have been one and the same. Anyways, they gave me another key and it worked. The Witcher 3 is updating as I type this. I will admit that this was not GOG's fault, so I won't hold this whole incident against them. If I learned anything, it's that I won't buy physical copies anytime soon. This was the first one in a long while.

Ben de D&R'dan Witcher III için iki defa aynı problemi yaşadım. Faturayla geri götürürsen iade alıyorlar. Başka oyun almanı tavsiye ederim :(

Open a ticket or PM Firek if your ticket hasn't been answered for some time. They will help you sort it out with the store.
