Hi,

the game doesent start anymore since i upgraded from 8.1 to windows 10.
it appears to be running in the task mananger but nothing happens.

I've allready googled it and tried the fix with the VIsiual Studio installment.

But that also hadn't helped. Now i've upgraded the game to 1.08 and no changes.

I just get now the error message 0 != H%&, when starting. you can click ok but nothing happens.

Anyone here with a clue? That really sucks, i want to play the game.

Are you using a mod (Console Enabler mod)? Update it.
If not remove or rename the dsound.dll and start the game.

i tried this. Now something is starting. but it remains a black screen. just whole dark.

So the game is something like half starting...

I dont know what to do now? should i reinstall it? it would be sad if i lose my savegame.

Save your The Witcher 3 folder from Documents elsewhere before you reinstall just to be sure.

Please try if you can start the game without Galaxy. The exe-file can be found here: The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\x64.
Did you install the 64bit version of Visual C++ Redistributable für Visual Studio 2012 or only the 32bit one? You need the 64bit version too.

If this doesn't help you could try to reinstall the game. But don't forget to backup your savegames (like Primo_Victoria said before).

My main problem changing from Windows 7 to 10 was with the application files in the folders (.exe) and not just the shortcut properties having been reset and not set up to "Run as Administrator" or that the security permissions had changed so that not all users had "Full Control" in the security tab.

well reinstalling does fixed the issue. but i have hard to laugh because the game is running but it lags as hell.

never had such problems on windows 8. shame on this OS.

also reinstalling the graphic driver does not help...

so just blame windows here...

Have you checked your Witcher 3 settings? Perhaps the patch mixed them up.

You prolly got software problems.
A clean install would be the best.

I didn't use windows 8 so I can't speak on that. But from windows 7 64bit to windows 10 it worked and even after with a clean install too. Take abit of getting used to windows 10 but it all works.
