Unfortunately seems this issue was never fixed, I like to have the overlay on so I get the achievement popups, however if you have framegen on and the overlay enabled it will cause the game to freeze and crash. Disabling the overlay fixes it. Unsure why thats the case and unlikely that a patch will be issued now, just a shame!
