I have been hearing rumors that W3 autoinstalls Galaxy. Is this true and if it is, can it be disabled? Or they all baseless accusations by Steam users? Can someone post screenshot of W3 install options?

Galaxy is optional so I doubt it would auto install itself.Steam users well, what can I say:-)

Do you mean you disabled the option or it does not exist at all? I know very well how GOG installers work so I was surprised by the claim.
You download from the GOG download.jpg & you run the setup.exe setupfiles.jpg
You install it where you like. no mention of Galaxy.

It was first time I heard about it so I got curious. I even tested Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000, that iirc, did autoinstall Galaxy without our say so but (but then again whole point was to test Galaxy MP), but it no longer does. Maybe they confuse it to complaints about free keys from Nvidia cards being GOG only?
It is completely optional. You can download the game along with the patches and DLC through the website, install it and never use Galaxy.

I just uninstalled both Galaxy and the game itself to see what happens exactly, I could install the game and run it without it even asking about Galaxy.

Yes,well Steam is confusing itself and a lot of other people.

I ment the install options (see pick, used AvP as example).

See pic
It defaults to G:\Games\ because that's where I installed my last game.

click the "Options" button on bottom left and take screenshot of it. I need to see the install option, default folder is irrelevant. That's why I posted the same from AvP above. ;-p And sorry for the inconvinicence. I want evidence to show to others. ;-)
