I play Wild Hunt through GOG Galaxy and I've played it for 94 hours now. I've had no problems or glitches until now.

STORY SPOILERS INCOMING

I just returned to Novigrad after killing Imlerith. I helped Triss to find Philippa and then talked to Avallach. No problems yet.
After we brought Ge'els to Novigrad, there's a cutscene where Eredin poisons the king. Instead of seeing the cutscene, all I saw was black screen and the prompt to press space to skip the cutscene if I want to. After the cutscene ended, black screen disappeared and everything was fine.

There was some other cutscene before this, where I remembered wondering if the cutscene skipped itself automatically because the screen went black for a second and then the game continued, I just wasn't sure about it until this point. And I can't remember where that cutscene was.

I have no idea how to fix this, and I'd like not to continue the game until it's fixed so this bug wont break the immersion in the game's finale.

Fixes I've tried:
Verifying game files through Galaxy - it did download about 122mb of files, but after that I loaded a save from before the Eredin cutscene and it was once again black.
Changing "fullscreen" from "2" to "1" in user.settings file - I did this after verifying the files, it had no effect.

Bump.
Hello,

I can't remember if I had the same issue with TW3 (be it at the same cutscene or another), or if it was with another game, but I think I was able to get a "missing" cutscene on windowed mode.

Two questions though, you said you changed "fullscreen" from "2" to "1" in user.settings file :

1/ Someone on steam said that'is it's not in user.settings that it has to be changed but in user :

2/ Does the change remain ?

By the way, the last post on the steam forum reminded me that I have also sometimes problems with my anti-virus not allowing some games to modify their settings files. Do you have checked your AV if there are notifications about that and if so allow TW3 to modify ?

Hope that you will soon "repair" your game and enjoy the cutscenes.
Hello.

I know this is a old post but felt i needed to share what fixed my game. I spent ages trying to work out what was wrong.

For me it was that my witcher 3 resolution was set to 1440p while my home screen was set to 1080 p.

I set my home screen to 1440p and cutscenes started working with no problem.

Hope this helps someone.
