Can someone pleae tell me how to get the Crossbow to work?

I have it and it looks like I have some Bolts but no matter what I do I can't get the Crossbow to show up.

Yes, I have it selected and it " says " it is selected but when I fight the Griffin I can't get the Crossbow to shoot.

I tried the Middle Mouse button and nothing happens.

I've seen a video that shows a dot for an aim point and I don't get that.

Nor is the character holding a crossbow ... just his sword.

right mouse button doesn't do it either.

And Z doesn't aim.

very frustrated.


Where can I buy / make some Bolts for the Crossbow?

PS this is on a PC.

TAB > Select the Crossbow
Click Middle Mouse = Auto-shoot
"Long" Click = Aim shoot.

The crossbow has infinite "classic" bolts.

If you are in the 1st zone, you can't craft "special" bolts or crossbow.

equip it with the tab key

it works underwater too

It shows that it < is > selected.

Middle Mouse button does NOTHING.

then you changed the controls or your middle mouse button is broken.
Just to be clear - it is the button on the wheel, you have to push down the wheel to shoot.

I cannopt use the xbow either. W3 says to use [] to shoot. middle mouse button doesn't do it. I'm filing a bugrep.

The crossbow does not equip itself automatically. Even after dragging it to the required slot it failed to be used during combat. Only after a few hours after Vesemir gave it t me did it "miraculously" presented itself.

you probably just hadn't selected it after equipping it.

Yeah, you use bombs? First you gotta change your bomb slot through the quick-menu to the crossbow. Then you use the same button that you toss the bomb with to fire the crossbow; and again, hold to aim.

Yeah. You have to select it from the rotary menu (LB on controller, dunno the key bind) and then pressing the button works for you.

You guys I had the same problem.

I have used the crossbow all throughout white orchard. However, now I am in Velen, I couldnt get the crossbow to work for anything.

Yes, it is equipped, yes the bolts are too, and no my middle mouse button is not broken.

I even switched the keybinding to another key and still the cross bow will not shoot.

IDK what the hell was going on.

Then I realized (like paladin said) you have to hold tab to bring up your sign menu (since you're on pc) and select your crossbow from there. That will solve your problem.

You can just press TAB, don't need to hold.

Was also having problems with Xbow and middle mouse. Think it needs a patch.

This afternoon I changed the Hot Key to " t " and THEN the crossbow worked.

Then I changed it back to the MMB and it DID NOT WORK.

My button is not broken.

The game isn't recognizing the button on my Logitech G-602 mouse.
Other buttons are fine.
