Please, pleaseee someone tell me they are addressing this horrible issue with player movement and it's ridiculous unresponsive nature. Geralt's movement feels so dull and heavy. Everything seems to have an animation before the actual movement.

For example, if I face north and want to go south, Geralt takes a painful second and a half to slowly turn 180 degrees then suddenly burst off in an inexplicable frenzy toward wherever he is facing to finally cover 5 yards in less than a 1/10 of a second.

It is literally a chore to position yourself to pick up a loot because every time you want to take one step forward, you will have to go through from what seems to be an eternity of bold, reluctant animation into an unstoppable marathon of doom. Narrow corners are your worst nightmares. To skilfully manipulate Geralt in tight areas without losing your cool, you will need a Ph.D in psychology.

It is such a disappointment to experience such an atrocious mechanism given it's Triple A title and such hype that it probably didn't deserve (yet). I am probably not the only one having a hard time with this so to anyone irritated by this please support the cause for a (revamp?) of their movement controls.

Sad face and hoping for better.

It is distracting to say the least but it bothers some people more than others. I was annoyed by it various times but not to the point where it ruined my enjoyment of the game, rather it just made my eyes roll and maybe I emitted the occasional sigh or two. :)

I'm not certain about it, but if you use Logitech Gaming Software or other company's similar software you may be able to configure the polling interval on your hardware to reduce input latency. That's only one aspect of the problem you're describing but it can help to eliminate one of the issues at least. The rest likely requires patching by CDPR.
It took me a while, but I finally got used to Geralt's movements. It still feels like controlling a tank, but I don't find myself getting annoyed by it as much. Controlling Roach's movements, however, is an entirely different story, and barring any serious changes to the responsiveness of those controls by CDPR I don't think I'm ever going to grasp them. I've still been able to win all of the racing quests, though, so not a huge deal.

Both minor gripes in an otherwise outstanding game.
I'd say it only bothered me a litte when looting. You can't be too close to the loot. And definately Geralt + mountains and Roach + mountains don't go too well together, but I wouldn't say it's a game breaker. It may be something you get used to, or it justs bothers some more than others. I play with a Mouse/Key board and I sometimes feel like it's more fit for a controller.
With the use of the walk toggle I see the movement as a feature. In closed quarters like towns and buildings running is problematic. so you walk. Likewise once you're into more open areas you can toggle back to run or even sprint. In many RPGs your character was stuck running everywhere, which can be quite immersion breaking but was necessary in a way because of sparse scenery and large distances. Might be hard for the impatient but the reality is any 'fix' for the movement would just involve slowing it down anyway to the same effect. Having the toggle allows the user to control the speed.
Go to your config (the file itself actually and open it via notepad) and set the framelitmit to the lowest value you reach. I've put mine to 38fps and v-sync off. The stable framerate eliminates your inputlag. The movement improved dramatically since then for me. However, a more responsive control would be nice.

Agreed!

IMHO ...I would not expected to find these flaws in a game of this "grandiosity"
Excluding bugs, stuttering and a puny combat system ...yes Geralt and also horse movements, are dull and impractical. Simply irritanting!
For now I put the game aside ...hoping in the next patch!
