jalister: While I agree that what CDPR is using is better than Steam, it still goes against what they once said about taking care of their customers first, and ignoring pirates when it inconveniences the paying customer. The steps you provided would qualify as an inconvenience. If I were to buy a retail copy, I would wait until there was a version that didn't require the download. In this case it just saves me money, since I won't be buying both a digital and box copy, like I did with WItcher 1 and 2 before the backup option was implemented.

I'm considering the digital pre-order though, after finally seeing some of the recent PC videos. If I change my mind and pre-order, it was because of Angy Joe and CohhCarnage.
In your case though, your inconvenience would not be any different than using whichever connection you are using now in order to visit this forum...Unless of course, you are not able to use a flash drive on the computer that you are now using.

I would go for digital because of convenience, further, had Skyrim came on gog I would not have been forced to buy the boxed version of Skyrim Legendary Edition, as I couldn't purchase the DLC/Expansion, nor even patch my game without an at home connection...

In this, gog is much more in line with the customer's needs, unlike Steam/Bethesda which blocks access to their online products by mandating an at-home connection.

Thanks to Angry Joe, CohhCarnage, some GOG members, a little bit more research and the 20% discount, I broke down and bought Witcher 3. I've been a fan of CDPR and the game looks great. There were 14 minutes left until the pre-order's end when I finally did it.

There are still some things between GOG and CDPR I'm not thrilled with, but it's nothing that makes we want to keep money away from them.
