Hey. I like the Cat School Witcher's Gear and I want to use it. I can't find a vendors who sell map for upgrades to this set. Anyone knows where are these maps?

the cat school, bear school etc are all 'witcher gear' so you have to find it, its not sold.

to make things confusing its technically called 'feline' & 'ursine' respectively. but just google for cat school gear, thats what i did, its not a very long or difficult quest. you do have to be lvl 14 to equip it, i believe i read lvl 17 for bear school

Just picked up feline yesterday, I have all of it except the steel sword so far. Started it at 15 on death march. I thoroughly enjoyed chasing after this gear.

I can't remember how I got the quest. They all seem to start with finding a book out in the world, either while on another quest, at a point of interest, or something. I think it might have been a monster den that put me on the path. I like it better than the griffin set (wore that less than a day cuz feline).

I asked about vendors who sell this maps. I found literally all maps. Here's list.

Bear School (COMPLETE):
1 - Armourer, Oxenfurt
2,3,4 - Blacksmith near Bridge to Kaer Trolde

Cat School (COMPLETE):
1, 2 - Vendor and blacksmith in Backbough
3 - Crow's Perch Vendor
4 - Lindenvale

Griffin School (COMPLETE):
1,2 - Midcopse, Armourer
3 - Hierarch Square in Novigrad
4 - Hattory (It's name of Vendor, basically that elf which gives you quest Of Swords and Dumplings - You need to finish that quest in order to get the map)

Viper School:
There's no map or upgrades and it gear set has only two swords, it's like starter Witcher's gear. You can find it in White Orchard. You can start the quest in castle ruins by searching one of chests.

I have one question, though: I've already found three maps for the griffin school gear and two for the cat school gear. I've found all the griffin school equipment schemes and I crafted it.
Now I've bought the first map for the bear school gear and, after reading it, the quest didn't trigger. The other two quests triggered, but for those I always bought and read two maps. Do I have to buy and read another bear school gear map to trigger the quest?

I can't find the first Bear School letter at the Armourer in Oxenfurt... I fear I might have buyed it and hours later reselled it to a merchant because I thought I read it (I had about a hundred letters/books/maps in my inventory). But I don't know which merchant it was I sold it to.
Can anyone please tell me the name of the first Bear School letter you get at the Armourer in Oxenfurt? I could try to give it back to me via the console.
Edit: Or maybe I have had the same problem as Nephilim88 and did not notice it.

If you find all the gear before triggering the quest you will not be able to trigger the quest at all.

This isn't a real problem as you get no reward at all for completing these quests, the quests are there simply to make finding the gear easier.

EDIT - Leaving previous as is but I misread what you posted, if you already found the Ursine gear then what I said still stands if you didn't find any yet and the quests aren't triggering it sounds like a bug.

I've found none, yet... I only have a complete basic set of the Griffin gear.
Great, first bug in the game, and it doesn't trigger a sidequest... I've been lucky, after all :)

This thread already spoils a lot so what's one more. Have you visited a certain area yet by sea? May not activate until then.

Edit: I didn't go to Skellige until level 20 because I wanted to upgrade his cat pajamas a bit. Can a witcher get frostbite? lol

I checked the vendor at Crow's perch for Cat school upgrade 3 (superior) map..but he doesn't have it..Is it a bug ?
