Replaying the witcher on death march level on PC (Alienware Alpha i7), patch 1.11. Since I used a few skill points early in the game (low level Yrden, Axii puppet, Cat School Techniques) that I would like to get rid of later, I depend on the potion of clearance for my game plan.

Now I cannot seem to be able to equip the potion into a quick slot? Using an Xbox Controller, "X" does not seem to work. Yes it works OK on any other potion. I can drop the potion or shuffle it around as I please, but I do not seem to be able to use it.

Is this a BUG? I must surely be missing something.

Potion of Clearance goes into a consumable slot, the same as food, or potions like Swallow.

Yes, it does. If you cannot place it there, then you need to check your controller bound keys.

Started today, and I was able to drink it directly from the inventory. Strange. Anyways, problem solved, thank you :)

EDIT: Okay, nevermind. Restarted the game and I was able to consume it from inventory screen. Didn't work before, I swear, but now it's okay.

Let me bump up the question, because - as Cybershot wrote above - the solution does not work for me.

I'm playing New Game + with patch 1.22 and both the DLCs, I'm at the very beginning and have the Potion of Clearance from the first playthrough, and I cannot seem to be able to drink it! I put it into one of the slots on Inventory screen just fine, but then I close the inventory and that slot on game HUD is empty! And pressing the slot's hotkey does not work.

What's wrong?

I got exactly the same problem. And I am in desperate need of help.
Hey mzywiol, I justn found the solution to our problem. You can select the Potion of Clearance directly from the inventory. I read that already but didn't know what that meant.

You don't have to put the Potion into a slot. Just select it in the inventory meaning you klick on it so that is has a golden frame and then press 'E'. Voila, your Geralt knows nothing! ;-)
