Seems like after installing that DLC I no longer get new Gwent card(s) when I challenge someone for the first time. Doesn't even give some random item, only gives crowns.

Try uninstalling the DLC and challenge the exact same merchant. Reason why it worth checking is the fact you simply stop getting new cards after some time and can only acquire more through either story challenges or buying them from innkeepers. If you do get a card after uninstalling the DLC, just report it to the support as a bug.

Ahh I see, just co-incidence that I stopped getting new Gwent cards. Haven't got the all Gwent card achievement thought.

Tried challenging innkeeper, that I haven't played against before, without the DLC and didn't get new card.

To get the achievement, you will need to get quite a few unique cards as well from side quests

***********SPOILER***********

like the one Zoltan gives you or when you attend the ball with Triss. If you miss those, you miss the achievement as well.

Yeah this is happening to me also....

Problem I have is that I played quite a few merchants so I will have to go through all of them to see which 1's I haven't received cards from, and that's if the game realises that it hasn't gave me the card

Ok, so I uninstalled the Ballad Heros DLC and went back to play Gwent against the barman at the Chameleon that I played after adding the DLC and he still didn't give a card.

Uninstalling doesn't work :(

I also have this issue were you aren't rewarded a gwent card or even an item for first-time victories.

I've completed all the qwent quests other than "complete your collection" which is still sitting in my quest log. I've beat the main story, am level 35, found at least 4 or 5 npc that I found and beat recently and like other people posting here, I didn't receive a gwent card or an item, only x20 orens.

I guess its possible that the only way it can be finished is if certain specific cards are buyable only from certain merchants that we just haven't ran into yet. This feels more like a bug to me to be honest though, since I thought gwent rewards were random rewards other than the quest players.

I think I had this issue before I installed this dlc.

Its a shame there isn't a way of tracking cards and npc's that have cards within game, at the very least we would know if this is a bug or not :( .
