Hi,
When you reach the end of the map in Witcher 3, sometimes it will prompt Geralt to say a special line (I dunno if you can get this line throughout the game, me I only heard it in the very last area). It goes like this: "A long trek requires a fellowship, oughta cobble one together"

Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? Except that in the Polish version, he actually says "Przed wyruszeniem w drogę należy zebrać drużynę", and that sentence is the official Polish translation of the infamous line "You must gather your party before venturing forth", from Baldur's Gate! And who did the official Polish version of Baldur's Gate, back when it was released? CD Projekt!

It's a nice little easter egg, a reference both to BG and to CDP's own past as a localization company. Pity the English translator didn't pick up on it... But I wanted to mention it here because it really made me giggle.

I've finished the game just now, after 160 hours, and it was sooo good! What were you guys' favorite references/easter eggs?

There are some very funny ones, my favourite is probably the Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister one.

Yeah, that one's cool isn'it? I especially like that it's on a small island completely off the main areas, there isn't even a quest that leads you there (or if there is one I didn't get it). I also managed to glitch the game on that island, get Geralt inside a place he wasn't supposed to, and then fall through the world. I'm not complaining, I was trying to trigger the glitch and it felt like an achievement.
Thanks for pointing this out, OP. Interesting bit of lore.

Well, to be fair they changed it to a Tolkien reference. But nice find!
Wow shame they missed that.

As a fellow translator though, I gotta admit: you can't know every reference ever ;)
The Silver Pantaloons are also a reference to BG 1 & 2
Sometimes, bandits may insult you by telling you your mother is a hamster, and your father smells of elderberries.

I've only heard it once in my time playing, but a Monty Python reference stands out for me.

Forgot all about those. That was funny too. Only got those once; seemed rare and random.
Wow that is a good one! And a real shame.
