LA Noir's Technology is old. Its just the fanboys hyping it. Go and play Heavy Rain, then look at LA Noir and laugh.

Also 20 hours IS long. Call of Duty games are 2 hours and cost 70 bucks and nobody complains about that. So why complain about 20 hours for 45 bucks?

AudreyWinter: Even BW, who are kings of face animation (if not much else anymore), merely manage a smirk. ;)

GoodGuyA: BW are NOT the kings of facial animation. VALVe is, and the first new face you see in Half-Life 2 gives the most convincing smile I've ever seen. It's really not too difficult, but you need to devote teams to making software which will work properly.
Sorry, again I forgot to be specific about what I referred to, which in this case would be RPG's. I don't play any shooters, so I wouldn't know what they are up to.

Not for an RPG. For an RPG, 20 hours are a joke. Ever played i.e Gothic? And well, if somebody buys a 2 hour game, they kinda can only blame themselves.

LA Noire is using a distinctly different technology from how Heavy Rain did it.

I'd say they've been beaten to the effect countless times, oft better. But nobody's really using their means.

Different kind of games mate... Everyone knows that CoD games are purely for mutliplayer... But for a good RPG you want way too many hours! Of course there are the exception failures like Mafia 2 (solo game with 7 hours gameplay (at least that's how it took me), complete failure and i am a HUGE fan of Mafia 1)....

VoodooEconomist: The lips are probably animated for the Polish language version - here they are top notch I'd say!

As for branching that's really amazing how they improved on TW1. TW1 had lot's of Important Decisions that led to Key Points, but you basically arrived at them the same way. It was A to B, and then either C or D based on the choice at A.

Here I'm at the end of the Prologue and I ALREADY want to restart the game to play again! There are so many little decisions that change little things, but make the journey from A to B totally different, and it's hard to tell the Big Ones from Just Flavour!

I've always put pen-and-paper RPGs above cRPGs, but even I have to admit - the way the story is structured and told is unique and amazingly believable. And I repeat - all this from just a few hours of adventuring!
Sounds promising Voodoo. Good to hear. :) How stable has the game been if you don't mind me asking?
According to another polish review, its 25-30 hours long.

Both German sites mentioned 50h
Guess we shall just have to wait and see!

Except for the sound stuttering in some cutscenes (flashbacks drawn in a more comicbook style) and the occasional too loud/too quiet dialogue lines I've experienced no difficulties! I've reduced sound acceleration, hope it'll reduce that minor niusance.

Then again real life prevents me from playing half as much as I'd like to.

The flashback stuttering is a GFX driver problem, get the latest beta driver.
