The game ask if we want to DL the patches. I want to.
Then without asking it installs them. Ok, why not.
But then, where are located the patches??
The patches are dowloaded to a temporary place and applied to your game automatically, so if you launch your game after it is complete and see the "Tutorial" and "Arena" menu options then your game is fully updated. The patches that were downloaded should be removed after the procedure is done (again, this is done automatically).

Note.
You can also look up your "readme_FR" (or whatever language) file inside your The Witcher 2 install folder to see which version your game is.
e.g. C:\...\The Witcher 2

So, that's a lie: The patches are not downloaded as we want, as we can't take them once on the HD for they are removed.
I want the patches to be downloaded for me.
I hate when this is done without my consent. I never told to remove the patches...
That's boring, as I must DL them TWICE then! I could DL them only once one by one, install the game with, and save the patches on my external HD.
Devs spoil their internet bandswitch by compelling us to DL the patches twice.

There are standalone patches on the official site. That's the method I used.

Indeed, it is the preferred method imo.
--- Sorry.
I made a post in the wrong thread and I don't know how to delete it.

I just used the new updater and it downloaded the patches to my witcher2 folder and the patches were still there after the install completed. I just moved them out of that folder to a backup folder for later use.
As far as I know, they are downloaded to your "Witcher 2" folder in "My Documents."

So it's something like this: My Documents/Witcher 2/Downloads/<PATCH EXE>
That's weird, I just checked and see the patches where you said but I also found patch files in my main Witcher2 folder too. That explains why 2 installers popped up.

Thank you!! The installation should tell it.
Are the main game install files now up on GOG.com for the 2.0 version? Or are the still 1.0, and then you have to use that new patcher file that appeared, and then backup the patcher it downloads?
Glad OP realize the patch located at Witcher 2 folder. Classic case of misunderstanding...
