First problem- can't download any DLC. According to CD Projekt they know what the problem is and are trying to fix it. But why didn't they fix it before release?

Second problem- starting the game from the installer does nothing except return you to the installer. Seems that W2 will *only* run in Windowed mode, doesn't support full screen. How crap is that?

Third problem- so finally get started. New to the game. Tutorial hint pops up as the dragon swoops down and i'm fried before I even read the hint.

Seriously- you couldn't make a more rubbish game if you'd tried.

How do I get my money back? Or do I just have to reverse the charges on my credit card because there is no way I am letting you keep my money for this pile of shit.

I think you are in the minority.
But if that's how you genuinely feel, then that's a shame.

Yup, Im not shying away anymore from telling it like it is when I encounter issues in games!

And im having none of those items and been playing full screen since day one!

It did take me 6 hours to get the last 100 megs downloaded and installed because of bugs and norton stopping GOG.com adware files, but thats entirely different from the OP!

I couldnt register day one and thus couldnt DL the DLC
Sent GOG a email
Got a reply the next day and the first problem was fixed and I could register
Then I couldnt DL the DLC as didnt have a redeem code and that was fixed the next day!

After that everything been working on the install/register/dlc side of things

PS: Far as dragon goes, you run, if THATS causeing the OP issues, just wait till he tries Arm wrestling, knife throwing, Bastilla targetting, and The Kayran encounter!

You're not missing much as far as DLC is concerned. May as well get started on the game. Also, listen to the king and run under the roofs.

I love these threads :D

So much fun in schadenfreude kind of way !

I am playing since tuesday, not a single bug and it is pretty much the best RPG since Witcher 1 and definitely best game I played in last few years...

So reading how this game is RUBBISH AAARGH makes me laugh :D
Amazing. The most devoted Bioware fan wrote this for us at TW2 thread in Social Bioware Forums: (And she was one that defended DA2 when most of us there said that Origins put DA2 to shame)
xxxxx wrote...

So.....I finished Act III just now.

I am UTTERLY blown away. I detest hyperbole....but this is the VERY best RPG I have EVER played. And the Replay value (With imports to add sweetness) is GIGANTIC. Tomorrow I'll import my Shani/Pro non human save and start again. I am sure I missed a lot as well. Nothing like ten more playthroughs to gather all the details.... If anyone were to ask me about the perfect RPG...I'd not name the BG Series, not the M&M Series, not Morrowind, not DAII .....but TW2.

Sorry about the fangirling. I just had to share. {smilie}{smilie}{smilie}
If you really want to return it.. send it to me. I'll buy. I only got the PDE because it may take a while before it is released here!
The fact the game doesn't start could most probably be a resolution problem. Lowering your desktop res before launch should fix that.

About the DLC problem: they fixed the launcher, but there might be some values in your register that prevent it from working correctly. I fixed that by deleting the values under GOG downloads and restarting the launcher. There are threads abundant on that topic here...

And yes, the news is that the first patch to resolve some problems will come out next week somewhere...
Lol is that Persep...? I didn't wanted to troll her though when those Bioware fanboys/girls didn't even join the Legendary thread :P
I am sorry of you feel that way. Buy games from steam and learn that there were no done games since 2008. Get used to the fact that games will be completed after a few months after launch.

I think Witcher 2 is a great game with some crappy combat and upgrade system, but this is simply a problem with balance, will be fixed soon. CD Project do read these forums.
