Sorry if it's been posted already but i've had this problem for two days now. The issue at hand is that i can't save the game. Neither F5 or Menu -> Save Game works. Sure enough it says "Game Saved" after i do either of those but when i die and hit load last save it loads a completely different auto-save file. I can't even see the save file i made in the "Load game" menu..

Makes it unplayable for me going on for 2 hours then die and get kicked back to a old as hell save file..
You know what would help?

Operating System?
PC?
Is this steam/GOG/retail?
Are you running the game in your admin account (if Vista/W7)?
Do you have multiple users on the PC?
Have you checked the save game directory to see if the files are in there?
etc.
etc. etc.

For reference, my save files are installed at <user>/Documents/Witcher 2/gamesaves in Vista

Sorry should have been more specific!

OS : Win7 64Bit

CPU : I7-960 @4.2Ghz
GFX : Radeon 6990
Mobo : Asus Rampage Extreme 3
PSU : Corsair 1k W
Ram : Corsair Dominator DHX DDR3 1600MHz 12GB

Version : GOG

Game is being run as an Admin, only one user on this PC.
Save files is in my GameSaves directory. There are way more save files in that directory than what shows in-game when i hit "load"
Have you tried sorting by date modified / created and then removing all the old saves temporarily to another folder to see if your newer saves show up? Would track down the root cause a bit.
I just did that, moved all saves but the latest auto-save then fired up the game and saved, now i can see that save file i made and load it withouth problems.

Your tip worked, however it doesn't make any sense to me. Is there perhaps a "Max_allowed_save_files" for that folder? o.O

Anyhow i'll play on for abit and see if it's giving me troubles again as the folder fills up.

Thank you very much!
