Ebon-Hawk: EA and BioWare both make comments that they support their global community and then exclude half of it from title releases or sweepstakes and the like, then come up with some really obnoxious excuse why that is the case (usually saying it has something to do with a customer service).
Zaxares: Are you referring to that Bioware Community Bazaar fiasco a year or so ago? Yeah, I'm still kinda disgruntled over that, but I grudgingly accept that Bioware pretty much had their hands tied on a legal basis. It's the states' individual laws that prevent them from running the contests in their area, and running overseas competitions is generally far too much trouble to be worth it.
I'm used to missing out on promotions and competitions because of where I live. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't even have batted an eyelid. What REALLY got me was how they promoted the event as being for all Bioware fans, everywhere, when really it once again just referred to people in the US/Canada. *grumble*
Yes, I was referring to that and to the fallout from the limited release of SWTOR (which I am not interested in, but still serves as a perfect example of how not to treat your customers)
Now I do not mind that they stuffed up the whole Bazaar thing, I also do not care that half of the world will not see SWTOR on launch day because EA/BioWare can't get it working correctly (giving major MMO design project to the company that does not make multiplayer games is a disaster waiting to happen).
What I do mind is them doing all of the above and then telling me that it is NOT the case...
Basically like I have said, it is equivalent to pissing on me and then telling me it's actually raining.
But beside the point, this thread was started to offer thanks and appreciations to CD Projekt and I think I should stop here and get on with the program... so, three cheers for CD Projekt :)
