revial: In that particular case, you're supposed to be "running blind" as you put it. That said, I imagine the game guide that came with the game has the answers you're looking for if you don't want to bother. ;p
Oh, stupid me, I have not realized I can have a game guide. I have even not taken a look to other files except those installation ones. I have the banner now :-) Thanks!

Guys i cant find the banner neither, i am on Roche's side - crossed the mist- spoken with 2 dwarves - won the spear - then i went to catacombs - at the end of the catacombs i met saskia and zoltan and received the sword and now i am stuck, i cannot open the doors at the end of the catacombs and cannot find any walls to destroy, found a key from a dwarf but thats all, what crypt are u all talking about? i havent met any wraiths - only nekkers atc..

Now you need to go back to the town, and look for the other exit.

I am both Amused and Annoyed at the fact that first, you guys never specified where the catacombs were, because I sure as all heck have no Idea, Second, thanks for letting us know that we needed a key off a dwarfs body, would've helped. and third, why is my quest marker telling me to go north of the mist if the catacombs is apparently under the town!

you're confusing the catacombs with the mines that are below the town, the catacombs are north of Vergen, but not in the mist

mordlikeafox: hrm, nothing to do with dun banner in that location .. and it turns outnI already have the dun banner cloak in my inventory

so I have all 3 items im supposed to have.. but the game is telling me i only have 2/3

is the dun banner cloak not what I need for that quest? it's a quest item so.. it must be, surely

mystral: No the dun banner cloak isn't the same as the dun banner itself. It's marked as a quest item but I haven't found a use for it.
However, if you have the cloak you should have the banner.

The three items you need are the banner from the crypt, the sword from Saskia and the spear from the dwarven poker player. Which two have you got?
Cloak and the beaver cap each allow you to answer 1 time incorrectly when deceiving the wrath.
