I can't for the life of me finish the last part of killing the kayran, after the quicktime event when the rocks fall on the beast. I simply do not know what to do , ive tried many things but to no avail. can anyone enlighten me?
Have completed it now, a bug disurpted how it was supposed to go.

Stuck there as well - after going at it several times I finally hacked the four tentacles, rode the sweeping tentacle then jumped off and thought it would be over when the remnants of the bridge fell on it, then I was promptly killed by a boulder hurled by the still alive beast.

I tried it again and was killed in a similar spot, but I think you have to go up the ramp on the left (remains of the fallen bridge - that's where I bit it on my last attempt) and probably do something to the main body when you get to the top of the ramp. That's just a guess though.

Went up the ramp DClark mentioned, after managing to avoid those flailing tentacles with more luck than anything else Geralt started getting electrocuted every second-and-a-half or so (I'm guessing the sorceress really did a number with those lightning bolts) but the weird thing's that he kept getting zapped even after managing to run away from there and hide behind a giant boulder in the middle, where he eventually croaked. No special damage / effect timer in sight, obviously, no obvious reason why that was happening, no way to stop it.

i'm having a problem where i can't complete the qte event in this fight even if i fill the bar all the way up.

anyone know what the problem could be?

I keep crashing into the rock. It blinks so fast what button to press. Which one is it?

I cant figure this boss out at all. I'm on easy, I've done it a billion times and I'm getting REALLY frustrated.

I don't know what to do. I can't hit any of the tentacles for the life of me, theres nowhere to go, I can't see a bridge and i'm getting absolutely hammered. I really wish they could of toned this down a little for easy mode, as not all rpg players are great at such heavy action games...

Can somebody help? I wish I could just find a youtube vid but i can't and I just really want to get on with the story and not have to watch that unskippable (at least on controller) cutscene.

I figured it out. I wasn't using the sign to trap the tentacles and I couldn't figure out what the hell the sorceress was telling me lol.

oh well, done now. I have to admit, even after all the frustration, the fight was pretty damn impressive in the end.

Any1 could beat the Kayran that throws boulders/rocks?

yeah i think im having the same bug. i hack off 3 of the tentacles and go thru the QTE but then it just hurls rocks at me and when i try to run up the fallen piece of bridge i just get smacked down by tentacles. ive placed yrdens on the fallen bridge ramp and dodged and watched the tentacles slap straight down on top of them with no effect.

if you found it was a bug how did you get around that bug? because ive gone back to before the autosave and the same thing has happened next time around :(

been trying to kill the bloody thing for about 2 hours now, driving me fucking insane...

EDIT - PS when i run up the left side of the fallen bridge ramp the tentacle comes vertically down and i cant avoid it. when i try to roll sideways i hit an invisible wall where the bridge is raised by about 3 inches. when i run up the right side i hit an invisible wall where it drops about 3 inches down at the end, again if i try to roll sideways i hit that same invisible wall i was hitting on the left.

EDIT AGAIN - Just did it, activated Quen after the QTE and ran up the left side of the ramp, dodged so the tentacle would land a glancing blow while i was rolling and knock me forward. Quen absorbed that hit then I did the same thing a second time (but without activating Quen because there's no time). The second hit knocked me almost all the way to the end of the ramp and off I went.

I don't know if it's any easier on easy and normal but that fight is fucking hard on hard...

I managed to screen shot the button it tells you to press, because I couldn't see it otherwise, it's so fast. It's spacebar.

Sorry guys, been too busy playing the witcher 2. what you need to do is run up that stone ramp to left, and tenticles will start to slam down on you so just keep rolling forward for the life of you. but the tenticle may still throw rocks at you on the bridge so keep trying and it will evetually stop and the tenticles should slam on you after. hopefully this has helped you guys.
