I'm curious what the story is behind the fact that the opening cinematic for the Enhanced Edition contradicts Letho's account of Demavend's assassination.

By Letho's account, he barely made it out alive and the assassination involved a labrinyth of some sort and a palace (he mentions palace guards). However, the openeing cinematic makes it seem as though Letho was so good that he was never in any danger. Also, the cinematic took place on a ship.

Granted, Letho could be lying while telling Geralt his story, but he has no reason to make up a lie that makes him seem as though he was more poorly trained than he really is. There's also the consideration that Letho, while clearly a pretty nasty dude, never really comes across as dishonest. His explanations always come with a tone of earnesty that somebody who's lying wouldn't have, probably because he sees Geralt as a fellow witcher, not as a true enemy.

I'm curious if anybody else has any thoughts on this. Was this an intentional difference or did CD Projekt introduce a huge continuity error with the EE in this regard?

I ... Think that CD-Project Red has actually rewritten / removed that bit of dialogue in EE, didn't they? I guess that's the cost of cool trailers :-P

I had just finished the EE when I originally posted. He still says that the assassination took place in some sort of palace or labyrinth.
